On this 75th Anniversary of D day take a moment to think about all the Canadians who fought in World War II and who gave their lives for the sake of freedom and democracy in the name of Canada but for all people.

We also think of all the Veterans who came home and carried the memories of what they saw and experienced and their own memories of the Fallen with them for the rest of their lives.

They are all Hero’s for standing up for a cause greater than themselves as individuals, for people they knew and for so many they would never meet.

We owe You all a great debt of gratitude.

Thank you.

The 2017 Decoration Day and Memorial Service was graced by an absolutely stellar day!

Bright sunshine, and warm temperatures, showing off the best of the Cemetery.
As always the caring that families bestow on their loved ones who are buried here shows.
Rev Nancy McLeod of the Leeds County Anglican ministries, well known to many Maple Vale families led the Service and shared a very meaningful message about grief and healing.
The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 95 provided a colour party of 7 members to honour our country and our dead in this year of Canada’s 150 Birthday.
Chloe McCracken and Penny Croghan led us in song and Chloe gave a wonderful solo .
I admit to a few hiccups with the pre-recorded music and sound system and but thankfully the group was very forgiving.
Thank you to all who attended. Thank you to all of our supporters.
A very sincere and hearty thank you to our sponsors- all local businesses- and volunteers without whom the Service just could not happen.

2016 Decoration Day Service was well attended. The early morning rain threatened to dampen the occasion. By the 2:00pm start the sun had dried the grounds and It was a beautiful late summer afternoon.
Rev Brian Burrows led the service with a message of comfort and hope and a strong singing voice. Thank you to all who attended, and thank you to all the people and businesses who helped make the day possible.
