The 35th Ecumenical Mission of Strathcona County has officially come to a close at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church!
A heartfelt thank you to Fr. Jim and the OLPH congregation for their warm welcome.

We were truly blessed by the ministry of Rev. Dr. Anna Madsen, who left us with an inspiring challenge as we wrapped up our time together: "Go and Baptize: Make Ambassadors of Hospitality."

Our deepest gratitude goes to:
dynamic Rev. Dr. Anna Madsen for leading us through such a unique and inspiring gathering.
The Ecumenical Mission Planning Committee for their dedicated work in bringing another successful Mission to life.
EVERYONE who participated! You are the true heartbeat of this gathering. We are so grateful for your presence as we continue to learn, grow, and pray together as a community.

We spent a wonderful afternoon at Glory Lutheran Church fueled by good food and sharp conversation on courage centred on the theme “Nevertheless, We Persist! Courageous Justice as an Act of Faith. Rev. Dr. Anna shared a gem from her mentor, Walt Bouman, that put everything into perspective: “Now that we know death doesn’t win, there is more to do with our lives than preserve them.” Consider it an official permission slip to stop playing it safe.

We wrapped up the day at St. Thomas Anglican Church with Evening Prayer and a dive into The Promise of Prolepsis: Living the Christian Life with Anticipation. It feels like we only started yesterday, and now we’ve arrived at the final day of this year's Mission!

Rev. Dr. Anna Madsen has blessed us all week with her faith, intellect, and courage—and thankfully, we still have two more opportunities to gather with her today!

A wonderful evening of worship at Salisbury United Church (Sherwood Park)

We were blessed to be led in worship by Rev. Britt Aerhart and listened to an inspiring message from Rev. Dr. Anna Madsen on 'The Discipline of Hospitality as Disciples of Jesus.'

Here’s a fascinating insight from the evening: Did you know the words 'guest' and 'host' both come from the same ancient root word (*ghos-ti-*)? It’s a powerful reminder that in true Christian hospitality, welcoming the stranger transforms both the host and the guest.
