❤️ October is Pastor Appreciation Month ❤️
No matter who your pastor is, what church you attend, or what denomination you belong to, October is a beautiful opportunity to pause and say thank you.

Pastors give so much of themselves—often in ways people never see. They pray, encourage, listen, teach, serve, carry burdens, celebrate victories, and walk alongside people through some of life’s greatest joys and deepest valleys.

This month, let’s go above and beyond in showing heartfelt gratitude to the pastors who faithfully serve God and His people, consistently putting themselves first!

Join us this Sunday as we gather together for a time of fellowship and worship in the house of the Lord.

Because You Say So Luke 5:5
“Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing. But because You say so, I will let down the nets.”
Some nights end with nothing in the net. You know the feeling. You showed up. You worked. You did what you know how to do. And still—empty.
Peter said it out loud. He did not dress it up. “We have caught nothing.” And Jesus did not flinch. He was already in the boat.
That is worth sitting with. The Lord does not wait on the other side of your success. He climbs in while the nets are still wet and useless. Empty is not the same thing as abandoned.
Then Peter does something beautiful. He tells the truth… and he does not let the truth have the last word.
“But because You say so.”
Not because it made sense.Not because he felt brave.Because Jesus said so.
The fisherman let the Rabbi have the lake.
And then he did the next small thing. He let the nets down. No speech. No new strategy. Just tired hands obeying a living voice.
You don’t throw nets to get Jesus in the boat. He is already there. The gospel always starts that way. Presence first. Then the word. Then the throw.
So if this has been a long night, you can say so.If what He is asking does not make sense yet, you can still trust His voice.
If all you have is a weary yes, that is enough to wet the rope.
He is already in the boat. Because He said so.

Today we celebrate not only 29 years of marriage, but the beautiful life of love, faith, and service you have shared together.

Thank you for giving so much of yourselves to Hope Wesleyan Church—for your love, your prayers, your sacrifices, and your dedication to serving God and His people.
