September services begin this Sunday, the 7th, with a Communion Service. Our pastor, Jamie Bushell, is back from her well-earned August break and all are welcome to attend. 10:30 a.m., Sunday September 7th at St. John's

This month, our pastor Jamie Bushell is approaching Sunday worship by looking at different aspects of wonder: Awe, Beauty, Curiosity, and Delight. This Sunday, July 20th, the subject is Curiosity.

Jamie writes:

The summer months bring fresh opportunities to slow
down and just enjoy each day as it comes. Summer is made for recreation, relaxation, connection and reflection. Whether we are at home or travelling we cannot help but notice the beauty and wonder of the world around us.

Summer worship at St. John’s will draw the community together for inspiration, connection and nature focused reflection.

Each Sunday I will invite the congregation to consider and practise a simple spiritual virtue such as ‘Awe’, ‘Beauty’, ‘Curiosity’ and ‘Delight’. The liturgy will be arranged a little differently to support our weekly themes. You will find more information and activities listed in the bulletin and ‘Happenings’ each week.

I look forward to sharing the wonder and awe of summer Sundays with you in July.

Spring is here! Daffodils and tulips are blooming (well, maybe not tulips-- the deer love eating them) and there are moments when the sun comes out and the whole world feels renewed. We are of course in Lenten season, with Easter services upcoming. Stay tuned!

After the blast of snow in the last week or two, we have it on good authority that some snowdrops are peeking out from the leftover drifts and showing their petals! "If winter comes, can spring be far behind?" asked PB Shelley, and it looks like Spring might just be on its way. Lenten services will be upcoming as we move towards the Easter season; February 23rd is the next Sunday worship, at 10:30 am at St. John's. The services are also available through Zoom; please contact the office for details. And keep looking for those little flowers pushing aside the snow.

We are back in person for Sunday February 16th! Please come and join us (and Happy Valentine's Day to all).

Dear friends: Once again, due to the icy conditions (especially in the church parking lot) worship tomorrow February 9th will be on ZOOM ONLY.

Please see the most recent "What's Happening" newsletter for the Zoom link, the Communion insert, the Bulletin and the Hymns. They are all listed at the top of the mailout.

Please note: As this is a Communion Service, you can join in on Zoom with a cracker and water or juice.

Email the office at [email protected] for more information, or for directions to the link. (Remember, sometimes What's Happening ends up in spam mailboxes, so if you didn't receive it Thursday afternoon, please check there first.)

Stay warm everyone!
