God's blessings to each of you,
It certainly has been a challenging year for all of humanity and I truly believe that there has not even been one soul who has not been affected in some manner by the horrible pandemic known as covid-19. It makes the Christmas holidays a challenging time as many of the close relationships that we enjoy each year can not come to fruition. I hope that we can be together in spirit, in the all encompassing, non-discriminating spirit of love and peace which emanates from our loving creator. Though physically separate we are bound together in a common bond of love which transcends all divisions that humankind has placed on us. I will miss our Christmas eve service as it is always a time of rejoicing for me and I receive a sense of joy in worshipping the new born Christ child with so many who share a common purpose. My heart goes out to all people who have suffered a loss of income or jobs, the strain on family, on interpersonal relationships, those who have contracted the virus, those who have lost loved ones and also to those who have suffered depression and anxiety over all of the worry and frustration. These are truly my mothers and my fathers, my sisters and my brothers, my cousins and nieces and nephews, my children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. All of humanity is my family in our time of need -more so now than perhaps at any time in our history. Here is something to consider -when our Saviour was born, among the humblest of surroundings, it is recorded that 3 Kings (wise men) followed a star and came to Bethlehem and a lowly stable to worship the infant Jesus, for they knew of His majesty. The book of Matthew tells us that lowly shepherds were tending their flock of sheep in a field and behold a great light shone upon them and surrounded them and they were sore afraid. But an angel of the Lord told them not to fear but to rejoice for a Saviour was born unto them in the city of David and immediately a chorus of angels appeared and began singing and shouting praises to gladden their hearts. So it was not only the rich, wise and privileged who rejoiced that night, but the humble, lowly, and uneducated. So it is with the love of God made manifest through his Son Jesus -all are included, welcomed, embraced and loved unconditionally. I humbly implore you to sense the growing needs of all people in these trying times and to offer a prayer in humility that the weight of their burdens may be lifted. I wish for each of you the blessed peace inherent in the new born Christ child and may we rejoice together with all people in such a wonderful, blessed event.
Merry Christmas and a joyous New Year of hope.
Kevin (Bubba).
