His storylines frequently center on guilt, confession, church visits, and his moral refusal to kill.

Kurt Wagner, one of the iconic X-Men known as Nightcrawler, is a devout Bavarian mutant who frequently prays the rosary in German and seeks refuge in churches.

The feast day of Saint Pope John Paul II is October 22. His abundant charisma was matched only by his immense intellectual gifts, which he put at the service of fighting for human dignity and freedom. As the turmoil of the twentieth century gave way to the twenty-first, John Paul II fought to keep Christ the centre of the human race’s yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

He travelled on apostolic journeys to 124 countries, inaugurated the World Youth Day celebrations, and established diplomatic relations, becoming known as a defender of human rights and peacemaker.

This weekend, there will be a second collection for the Evangelization of the Nations, otherwise known as World Mission Sunday. This is a worldwide collection for the missionary church. It is our opportunity to assist at-need Catholic Communities globally. Offerings are combined with offerings from other Catholics around the world and distributed to missions and dioceses.

We are called to share from our abundance with those less fortunate who lack the basic essentials to know, love and praise God.
