Augustana - Lutherans and Anglicans worshiping together

Augustana - Lutherans and Anglicans worshiping together A Lutheran and Anglican Community gathering together for worship each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. We offer a rich range of music in a liturgical worship service.

Augustana - where Lutherans and Anglicans worship together - is a Christ-centred, welcoming community committed to modeling Christ's unconditional love - in our worship, learning, fellowship, friendship, and service to others. We welcome everyone to participate in every aspect of our community - just as God welcomes and cares for all - without regard to sexual orientation, gender identity and expr

ession, race, culture or ethnic background, physical or mental abilities, family or economic status, gender, or age. We pledge to ourselves and to all others that we will strive to live as a reconciling people in our life together and in our outreach to the world. This is a Lutheran and Anglican Community of faith which gathers to celebrate and to be inspired by God's grace at work. We view our call from God as an adventure as we seek to fulfill God's mission for us. We are engaged in social ministry, healing ministry, parish nursing and we strengthen our fellowship through learning, being and serving together.

Here the angel’s message is represented by the doves and the stars. Her message flows into his space with the same power that invoked his fear. I imagine Zechariah let his guard down then, and listened to her in shock. I imagine he takes in her words, lets his arm down, meets her gaze, and holds onto joy, despite his ongoing apprehension.

This Advent, perhaps the question is not how we rid ourselves of fear.
Perhaps the deeper invitation is this:

Can we name our fear honestly—
and still believe God is near?
