Today we were blessed to hold another free community meal — this time a hot dog barbecue — where nearly 300 were served.

A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful volunteers, who continue to live the Gospel in such a beautiful, and practical way — through presence, kindness, service, and love.

We are also deeply grateful to the Young Adult Ministry of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saskatoon for sponsoring today’s barbecue. Their ministry, supported through the Bishop’s Annual Appeal, helped make this meal possible for so many in our community.

After a rainy day, we questioned more than once whether today’s barbecue should be postponed. But we placed our trust in God, and sure enough, the weather cleared just in time. We had a beautiful evening, and the rain only began again as we were putting away the tables and chairs. God is good.

It is truly a privilege to serve our guests, to spend time with them, to listen to their stories, and to be trusted with their struggles, their grief, their laughter, and their joy. This ministry is so much mire than serving food — it is about encounter, dignity, love, and community.

If your business, family, sports team, youth group, group of friends, or co-workers would like to make a real difference in the lives of many, we would be grateful to have you sponsor one of our free community meals.
We would like to continue to serve 1-2 meals a week, but can't do it without your help.

Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

O most holy heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing, I adore you, I love you, and with lively sorrow for my sins I offer you this poor heart of mine. Make me humble, patient, pure and wholly obedient to your will. Grant, Good Jesus, that I may live in you and for you. Protect me in the midst of danger. Comfort me in my afflictions. Give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs, your blessing on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death. Amen.
