We spend so much of life chasing things that feel urgent.

Success.
Recognition.
Security.
More money.
More control.
More certainty about the future.

And yet Elisabeth Elliot — a woman who walked through loss, uncertainty, and suffering — kept returning to something deeper than all of it:

Nothing in this life compares to knowing God.

Not just knowing about Him.
Not using Him as inspiration.
But truly walking with Him.

Because at the end of our lives, the things we built, bought, collected, and worried over will not matter the way we thought they would.

But knowing God will.

That is why Scripture does not describe eternal life primarily as a place…
but as a relationship:

“This is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” — John 17:3

We were not created merely to survive this world.

We were created to glorify God here…
and enjoy Him forever.

Who - do they say I am?

“For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭10‬, ‭12‬-‭13‬, ‭17‬

There is a First Nation prophecy about a "black book" from the Anishinaabe Seven Fires Prophecy. It foretells the arrival of light-skinned men clutching a black book (a symbol for the Bible) who would offer new religious teachings and drive a wedge between traditional Indigenous societies.

Since Mose’s time, clutching the word of Adonai written on stone tablets, has always challenged people in every race to hear it, and to accept or not, but one thing for certain, the word of Adonai since time immemorial, is living and teaches about his unconditional love and forgiveness for all the wrongful choices that separated us from knowing who ‘God’ really is. No matter what tribe, race, language or people we are - we all come to the crossroads of good and evil, good or bad. "There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death" (Proverbs 14:12).

I am a Cree First Nation, proud of who God created me to be, but without God in my life, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I know God not only just as a Creator God, but as a loving Heavenly Father with a motherly embrace and care.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭17‬

God himself knows my life’s journey and I would rather draw close to the One who breathed into me to give me life.

I owe Him my life, and believe me, life with God or not, is real; it is not religion, tradition or culture - it is a personal choice.

Make the right choice today.

It is so easy to be squished!
Please LORD make us unsquishable!

But as Jaroslav Pelikan notes: Luther suddenly broke through to the insight that the “righteousness of God” that Paul spoke of in this passage was not the righteousness by which God was righteous in himself (that would be passive righteousness) but the righteousness by which, for the sake of Jesus Christ, God made sinners righteous (that is, active righteousness) through the forgiveness of sins in justification. When he discovered that, Luther said it was as though the very gates of Paradise had been opened to him.
