Maundy Thursday Service and Foot Washing 7 pm
135 109th Street W this evening. Welcome.

On Maundy Thursday, Christians remember Jesus’ last meal with his disciples and his commandment to love one another.

On this night, Jesus kneels to wash his disciples’ feet and shares bread and wine, showing that love is not expressed through power or control but through service, humility and self giving. Maundy Thursday invites us to reflect on how we love and serve others in our daily lives and practices.

Bible reading: John 13:34
‘I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.’

Prayer

Loving God,
on this holy night you show us the depth of your love.
Teach us to serve one another with humility and care,
to love not in words alone but in action and truth.
As we remember Christ’s commandment,
shape our lives by his example
and strengthen us to follow him in love.

Amen.
