WHEN LIFE FEELS HEAVY

(Psalms 46:10-11) Be still and know that I am God.

Are you exhausted this morning by financial pressure, rising food prices, joblessness, war, illness, anxiety, grief, or family struggles? You may feel overwhelmed because you are trying to carry everything on your own. But your instruction for today is simple: be still and let the Lord fight your battles.

“Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?” (Matthew 6:27). Worry is a cycle of unproductive thoughts centered on fear. It does not remove tomorrow’s sorrow; it drains today’s strength. Left unchecked, worry can push the heart toward restlessness and desperation.

You may have endured sleepless nights and seasons of feeling pressed, rejected, abandoned, or cast down. Yet in the middle of it all, you are still here clothed and in your right mind. Even when the enemy whispers that there are no hope and others seem to prosper without regard for God, do not lose heart. Like the psalmist, you may have felt like your footing almost slip (Psalm 73:2-4), but you are still standing and giving God glory.

Your heavenly Father knows exactly what you need. He has promised that the righteous will not be forsaken, nor their children be left begging for bread. He also reminds you, “Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself” (Matthew 6:34).

Being still does not mean doing nothing. It means calming your heart, releasing your anxiety, and taking your hands off what only God can handle. Trust that He can do exceeding, abundantly above all you can ask or think.

The Lord has a sovereign purpose for your life, and He will work everything together for your good. He is in control; He sees you, and He cares for you deeply.

The battle is not yours; it belongs to the Lord.

FORSAKEN BUT NOT FORGOTTEN.

(Psalm 27:10) When your father and mother forsake you, then the Lord will take you up.

Rejection is a pain that the natural mind cannot comprehend. It will destroy your self-esteem, attack who you are, your purpose in life, and, if allowed, will detract from your happiness. It is a common tool the devil uses to destroy your life.

Rejection can inflict damage to your psychological well-being that goes beyond emotional pain, and the closer you are to a person, the deeper the wound of their rejection. The ones you love the most are the ones that will hurt you the worst.

Many who, have faced rejection grow up with unresolved emotional wounds, which if not cleansed, will grow and fester into spiritual wounds such as blaming God, fear, bitterness, unforgiveness, hatred, and produce the fruit of distrust. The goal of the enemy is to get you built up with emotional baggage inside and negative feelings in your heart against God, each other, and yourself.

Your rejection is not that you are not good. It just means the other person undervalued your immense value. He removes and adds people in your life for time, seasons, and purpose. What feels like rejection can also be God’s way of adjusting your course that will propel you to your destiny.

God has a way of opening doors to levels of blessing you would otherwise have missed. Without the rejection, you would not recognize it was a steppingstone to a supernatural experience the Lord has for you.

Where God is taking you, your rejectors are not part of the package, and your purpose must be fulfilled. You feel rejected. It hurts, but you are not alone. Jesus was despised, rejected, and is acquainted with the deepest of grief (Isaiah 53:3). The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. A blessing is coming your way that will cause your rejectors to become very regretful.

You are not forgotten and your rejection will propel you into your purpose.

THIS IS YOUR DAY.

(Acts 2:1-4) When the day of Pentecost had fully come…They were all filled with the Holy Spirit.

The seventh Sunday after Pesach, (The Passover), commemorates Shavuot, (Pentecost or the Feast of Weeks).

After Jesus’ resurrection, He was with His disciples for forty days. He led them out as far as Bethany, a little village on the Mount of Olives, blessed them and departed (Luke 24:50). There are times He will lead you so far and you will have to make every effort to get to where He sends you. Wherever He commands you to go, He will show up (Luke 10:1).

Jesus promised His disciples He would not leave them comfortless, but He would send the promise of the Father, which is the Holy Ghost, which would serve as a surrogate for His departed human presence. (John 14:26). Their only responsibility was to remain in Jerusalem until they were clothed with power from on high (Luke 24:49).

A hundred and twenty hungry souls, including His mother Mary, waited for 10 days in an upper room on the promise. Exactly fifty days after Passover the Holy Spirit was poured out upon 120 obedient souls (Acts 2:4).

If you have a real Passover experience, (death-repentance, burial-water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ), then Pentecost, (resurrection-Holy Spirit), is automatic. You do not have to labor for Pentecost. It is a gift. Just step up to the bar and the drinks are on the house (Isaiah 55:1).

You have been searching for something to fill your emptiness, pain, loneliness, and sorrow but your Pentecost or deliverance has come. There are a revitalization and joy that is awaiting you today and you have been commanded to stop procrastinating, come taste, and see that the Lord is good. God will put all your broken pieces back to together and mend your broken heart. He will resurrect your tired and lifeless life into a fruitful and meaningful one. Your change has come.

Someone is going to achieve a miracle, and I know is going to be you. Be obedient, like the 120 souls, and don’t let the Master pass you by. Obedience always precedes the miraculous.

ARE YOU WASHING YOUR NETS?

Luke 5:2

“He noticed two empty boats standing at the water’s edge while the fishermen washed their nets.”

Why would fishermen wash nets that hadn’t been used? The answer is they were quitting because of an overnight problem. “We have fished all night and caught nothing” (see v. 5). Their expectations had been destroyed. They believed that the way things were was the way they’d be. They were beaten!

That’s when Jesus showed up. He came to where they were; He walked right into the middle of their disappointment with a solution. First, He asked them for their boat and used it to preach to the crowd and heal the multitudes. Child of God, turn everything over to Him—all you have, all you are, and all you’ll ever be—and let Him use you for His highest purposes. Next, He gave them a word that only faith could receive: “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a draught” (Luke 5:4 KJV). Can you see now why He has to wait until you’ve done everything you know to do? Only then are you ready to listen; even though His Word doesn’t seem to make sense, you’re ready to obey without question. Are you discouraged today? Is it your ministry, your marriage, your job, or your health? You may be washing your nets, but it’s not over. Who told you God wasn’t going to bless you again? Who told you He wasn’t going to bring victory out of your ashes? It’s not over until He says it’s over. If He can fill empty nets for those discouraged disciples, then you don’t have a problem He can’t take care of.

YOU ARE UNDER HIS CONTROL.

(Psalm 55:22) Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never permit the righteous to be moved.

You are there worrying, contracting headaches, stressing yourself, but the Lord is asking you to cast all your burden upon Him and let Him endure them. Someone has hurt you and left you with some deep emotional wounds. There is sometimes no visible explanation why you must suffer what you are suffering and the people you love the most will hurt you the worst. Your worst enemies will be those of your own household (Matthew 10:36).

You have been carrying some pain, disappointment, rejection, and you feel unloved, exploited, and pushed aside. You are yearning for love, joy, peace, compassion, unity, care, and togetherness, but it is a struggle. Every time you make some strides, the enemy shoots a dart to distract. If you are rejected, ignored, or persecuted by others, the pain is less than when your loved one does the same.

Most people have given up and lost their mind over what you are going through, but you are still here. You ought to pause and give the Lord a ridiculous praise for keeping you.

The setbacks, dilemmas, disappointments, fiscal crisis, persecution, pain, and grief you have suffered have taken an overwhelming toll upon you; however, changes are inevitable. You are upset because your enemies seem to be prospering, but do not fret; …. evildoers shall be cut off. A cry of Abba Father gives you access to God, and angels have been given orders to keep you in all your ways (Psalm 91:11).

His special delivery note for you today is cast your cares upon Him because He cares for you (I Peter 5:7). His yoke is easy, and His burden is light (Matt. 11:30). He wants you to know that He will sustain you; He will be your strong tower, refuge, fortress, and strength in your troubled times.

Do not be discouraged because the test will not destroy but will develop you. Better days are coming by and by; Sorrows will be over joy will come at last. Your best is yet to come.

THE GRACE OF GOD.

(1 Cor 15:10) But by the grace of God, I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain.

If you’re facing a hard season and wondering how you’ll get through it—asking, “Why me?”—the Lord wants you to know this: what defeats others will not defeat you.

It’s been heavy, and you’ve felt like giving up. You’ve endured sleepless nights—confused, pressured, pursued, knocked down, and left feeling alone—yet you keep getting back up while others fall apart. You’ve walked through trials, disappointments, and storms similar to what your friends faced, but you’re still standing. That’s not luck; it’s God’s unearned favor on your life.

God’s grace meets you right when you need it. He doesn’t give tomorrow’s grace today. His grace carries you through this day, and His mercy covers the mess you may have made. When you feel discouraged and overwhelmed, remember: His grace is enough, and He will bring you through. What conquers others will not conquer you.

Paul kept his joy through beatings, betrayal, shipwrecks, and prison because the Lord told him, “My grace is sufficient for you” (2 Cor 12:9). God is speaking that same truth to you today.

God has been good to you, and you have favor in His sight. Favor isn’t fair, but God is—and you have been “graced.” Grace is something you can fully receive, even if you’ll never fully explain it. It is His grace that forgives, cleanses, and surpasses every sin.

Whatever you’re facing, you will make it. Every obstacle can become a steppingstone into a supernatural experience you’ve never known. Don’t let your circumstances destroy you—His grace is sufficient for you.
