Feeling scattered, pushed out of your comfort zone, or facing an unexpected detour?'

In Pastor Rob's sermon last week, he covered Acts 11:19-30, and the early believers were scattered because of intense hardship and persecution. But instead of shutting down, they stepped into new spaces (like Antioch) and started sharing hope with people they had never reached before. God turned their painful displacement into unstoppable purpose.

Here are three quick encouragements to carry with you today from this story:

Trust the detour - The disruption you are facing right now might just be God positioning you exactly where someone needs your light.

Be a "Barnabas" - When Barnabas arrived and saw this new, messy, beautiful community, he didn't critique it, he encouraged them to stay true to the Lord. Who can you cheer on today?

Love in action - When a severe famine was predicted, the Antioch believers didn't hoard their resources out of fear; they immediately gathered support for those in Judea. Real faith shows up when times get tough.

Your current challenge might be the exact setup for your greatest impact, so keep going, keep encouraging others, and keep looking for ways to share the grace you've been given!

Last week we covered how three times a sheet came down from heaven full of animals Peter had spent his life calling unclean, and three times God told him to eat. Peter refused until the voice corrected him plainly (Acts 10:15, ESV): "What God has made clean, do not call common."

The vision wasn't about food. It was preparing Peter to walk into the house of Cornelius, a Roman centurion and who Peter's whole upbringing told him to avoid. And when he arrives, he says it out loud: "God has shown me that I should not call any person common or unclean" (Acts 10:28).

Peter was following the rules he'd been given his whole life. God still had to interrupt him three times before he'd see a person the way heaven already did.

This week: name one person or group you've already sorted into a category before you let God speak into it, and then do the harder thing Peter did, go toward them, not away!

This quote certainly should make us think about whether "the church" is actually helping people with not just their physical needs but their spiritual needs as well.
