Tim Hortons launches its Harry Potter campaign on August 12. If you want to say something about it, the next few days are when it counts.
Licensed Harry Potter products generate royalties for J.K. Rowling, who has spent years and a substantial amount of her own money campaigning against trans rights and trans healthcare. At a time when anti-trans hate crimes have been rising every year for the past 4 years, this is an absurdly thoughtless and expensive decision for a company that has spent decades setting itself as a brand that cares about every Canadian.
One ask first: nearly every Tims location is franchisee-owned. Local small business owners, many of whom put their savings into a single store. They had no say in this and no power to change it.
Send it up, not sideways. → [email protected]
That's the brand's press desk, monitored by people whose job is reputational risk. A complaint at the counter gets logged as a store issue and closed there.
