Fall Fair Soup Kits

Your help is needed to make soup for the Fall Fair. Soup Kits will be available for pick up.in the Narthex after church this Sunday. The Kits will contain the recipe with instructions, soup containers with lids and labels. Make the soup at anytime between now and the week before the Fair. When you have made, packaged and frozen the soup, place the containers in one of the freezers in the freezer room (across from the gym stage) behind the large kitchen. You will have a choice of several soups to make, and you can pick up more than one kit. Choices this year will be the same as last year including Turkey Vegetable, Pea, Lentil with beef & barley, Mulligatawny and Vegetarian. Frozen soups are a very popular option at our Fall Fair and your help is appreciated. Many thanks to Barb and Judi for helping Yvonne & Bev assemble the Kits.

Thanks to all those who helped with preparing, serving and cleaning up for the meal at The Inn of the Good Shepherd - Sarnia on August 26th. It was a very hot day and 113 people were served. The meal included smoked sausage penne, coleslaw, fresh fruit and vegetables, homemade cupcakes!

Foodbank Sunday, September 6th. The first Sunday of the month is our opportunity to bring food items for the Inn of the Good Shepherd. Monetary donations are also welcome to replenish the Grace Inn fund that is used to purchase food for Grace’s monthly meal at the Inn. Baskets and boxes are placed by the sanctuary and Cathcart entrances for your food donations. Feel free to transport items in reusable or brown bags and save the environment from plastic bags. Monetary donations can be placed in your weekly envelope under ‘other’ and designate Inn.

Many thanks to all who have brought in backpacks or school items thus far for our Back to School collection. We are still receiving items this coming Sunday and Daniella will see that items are distributed where they are needed the most.
