In Loving Memory of Logan MacKenzie (“Logie”)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Logan MacKenzie (“Logie”), who passed away on June 22, 2026, at the age of 81.

Born on April 22, 1945, in Sarnia, Ontario, Logie will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Yvonne MacKenzie; his beloved daughters, Nicole Lynch (Brian), Laurie Émond, and Michelle Denomy (Chris Clark); his cherished grandchildren, Connor Elnicki (Brittany), Jordan Elnicki (Rachel), Onnika Blake (Roshane), and Taria Kjeldsen; and his adored great-grandchildren, Georgia, Gracie, and Olivia.

He will also be fondly remembered by his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Victor Goguen (Jeanette), Linda Joyce (Harry), Theresa Brazeau (Kenny), and Steven Goguen (Beth).

Logie was predeceased by his father, Logan MacKenzie; his mother, Margaret MacKenzie (Grimes); his father-in-law, Gilbert Goguen; his mother-in-law, Roland Goguen (Coté) ; and his brother-in-law, Maurice Goguen. Logie lived a life marked by love, dedication, and kindness. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, family man, and friend whose presence brought comfort, laughter, and joy to all who knew him.

Logie worked as a crane operator for many years and took great pride in his work. Outside of his career, he enjoyed spending time in his workshop, boating, and riding his Harley trike. He was known for his remarkable ability to fix or build almost anything, his quick wit and sense of humor, and his unwavering love and support for his family.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Logie’s life will be held at a the Corunna Legion on July 5, 2026 from 1-4 pm.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Lily and the palliative care team for the compassionate care and support they provided to Logie, both at home and in the hospital. We would also like to sincerely thank the many friends and relatives who visited, shared their time and companionship, and brought food during his illness. Your kindness, generosity, and support brought great comfort to Logie and his family and will never be forgotten.

Logie’s legacy of hard work, generosity, ingenuity, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.

Passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the age of 79 years.

Beloved husband of Marilyn (nee Trojan)

Loving father of Kimberly, Krista (Sean), Carolanne (Chris), and Christopher (Carmen).

Grandfather of Matt and Cid, Marshall, Danielle and Emily; Breyona, Laurissa, and Bryce. Great-grandfather of Mason, Kaitlin and Ezmerelda.

Brother in law of Fran (John) Read, Bill (Trojan), and Mike (Jane) Trojan.

Jean renovated many homes and built a few new ones as well, always with a smile on his face, and he was a hard-working man.

Today, the Board of Directors and staff of Lakeview Cemetery would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who attended Sunday's Decoration Day Ceremony.

This year's event was especially meaningful as we joined our community in recognizing the 100th Anniversary of the Sarnia Legion Branch 62, a remarkable milestone celebrating a century of service, remembrance, and support for veterans and their families.

We were honoured to work alongside Legion members, volunteers, community leaders, veterans, cadets, and residents who helped make the ceremony such a respectful and memorable occasion.

We would also like to acknowledge the efforts made toward the restoration and preservation of our veterans' memorials by Memorial Restorations. These projects help ensure that the stories, sacrifices, and legacies of those who served are remembered for future generations. Preserving these monuments is an important responsibility, and we are proud to play a role in that work.

Decoration Day remains one of the most important traditions in our community—a time to pause, reflect, and honour the men and women who served our country.

Thank you to everyone who attended, participated, volunteered, and helped keep this tradition strong.

KRPAN, Frank (1939 - 2026)

Passed away peacefully at Bluewater Health Hospital in Sarnia (Palliative Care) on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the age of 86 years. Beloved husband of Patsy. Loving father of Kathy (Brad), Kelly (Brian), and Jeff (Ann).

Grandfather of Scott (Angela), Samantha (Darrell), Daniel, Dylan (Isabel), Sara (Tim), Hillary, Emma (Jacob), and Abby (Colin). Great-grandfather of Thomas.

A Celebration of life open house for Frank from 4:30pm – 6:30pm on June 15, 2026, at St. Michael’s parish hall, 1920 Wildwood Drive, Bright’s Grove, Ontario, followed by a regular daily Mass at 6:30 pm, on the date of the 63rd anniversary of the marriage of Frank & Patsy.

Frank was an avid fan of the Montreal Canadiens and was a sports enthusiast, having played hockey, football, and golf. With his loving wife Patsy, Frank enjoyed many glorious years of travel across North America in his retirement.

The family wishes to give special thanks to the staff of the Bluewater Health Palliative Care unit and to Dr. Orla MacSweeney for her thoughtful care. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Diabetes Association, or Sarnia-Lambton Humane Society.

Beloved husband of the late Beverly Garceau (Wilson). Loving father of Luann Gallagher (Geoff Seed) and Linda Roland (Mike Kormann). Cherished grandfather of Billy Gallagher and Chantal Roland. Great-grandfather of Holly Maidman, and Jayme Gallagher.

Edgar Lebreton “Ed”

December 27, 1938 – May 12, 2026

With sorrow and much love, the family of Ed Lebreton announces his peaceful passing on May 12, 2026, at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Donna Jean since 1961. Lovingly remembered by his daughters Kimberley Ann Cox (Leonard) and Shelley Jean Morton(Christopher). Treasured by his grandchildren Shayne, Katrina, Aaron, Jeremy, Noah and Coda and his great-grandchildren Landen, Chloe, Addison and Liv.

Cherished brother of Gerald, Geraldine, Genevieve and Jennette. Loved brother-in-law to David and Donna Powers.

He will be dearly missed by his neighbours and friends at The Sandpiper.

Ed was predeceased by his parents Alvina and Delphis Lebreton, his siblings Gerald, Geraldine, Genevieve and Jennette, his precious grandson Jeremy Christopher, his brother-in-law David Powers and son-in-law Lenny Cox.

Ed was born in Dalhousie, New Brunswick, working on farms until reuniting with his brother and sisters in Ontario. He eventually settled in Sarnia, building a home and a life with Donna. Sixty-four years filled with roses and memories.

His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren…camping, teaching them how to fish, playing cards, board games, and enjoying s’mores around the campfire. So many cherished moments and family memories.

A pipefitter by trade, Ed enjoyed learning Instrumentation and worked well beyond his retirement age. He was a true gentleman and was always available to lend a hand.

Ed was a quiet man, a gentle soul, a man of great faith and prayer. He loved the Lord, he loved the Word and faced life’s challenges through the lens of eternity. Ed found comfort in the promises of God such as 2 Timothy 4:7 “I fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” While we grieve his passing, we have peace that Ed has completed his journey and now rests in the arms of the Saviour, free from pain and sorrow, rejoicing in the presence of the Almighty.

Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Sarnia-Lambton or Down Syndrome Association of Lambton County.

HILLIARD, Glenda
1959 - 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Glenda Hilliard on May 11, 2026, at Bluewater Health in Sarnia, Ontario, at the age of 66.

Born on October 26, 1959, Glenda is now reunited with her beloved husband, Steven Hilliard. She will be deeply missed by her children, Travis, Mallory (Shannon), and Shelby (John). She was a devoted and loving grandmother to Tyler, Abigail, Jaxon, and Isabelle, who brought endless joy to her life. Glenda was also a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews and a loving sister who will be fondly remembered for her care, loyalty, and support throughout the years.

Glenda will be remembered for her creative spirit, love of crafts, and wonderful sense of humour that could brighten any room. She had a way of making people feel welcome and loved, and her laughter and caring nature will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of life will be held on May 30, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at her daughter’s home in Strathroy, Ontario.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

Carmela Montanino (nee Rescigno)

October 26, 1938 – May 4, 2026

Carmela passed away peacefully with all her family around her after a long, hard-fought journey with dementia. While the dementia gradually took away her independence and memories, it never took away her sense of humour, kindness and love of all things Neapolitan, especially the beautiful Neapolitan music that was a big part of her early years.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Montanino, her children Tony (Jennifer) Montanino, Teresa Montanino and Rob (Sandra) Montanino and her grandchildren Milena, Theo, Marcus, Luca, Francesca, Dominique and John. Her brothers Savario (Pasqualina) Rescigno and Felice (Felicetta) Rescigno predeceased her.

Born in Cimitile, Italy, Carmela lived there until she married Frank in October 1967. She courageously moved with Frank to Canada and overcame the immense challenges of building a new life without knowing the language. She worked tirelessly as an entrepreneur, while balancing the demands of raising three children and her hobbies of gardening, cooking, baking and making tomato sauce and wine. She dedicated herself to family and will be remembered for her generosity, warm affection, kindness, humour and the many delicious meals she prepared in her kitchen.

We will be forever indebted to the countless amazing people who supported and cared for Carmela, particularly in the past few years. From the in-home care provided by VON and CarePartners, Dr. David Kim, specialists, personal care workers and nurses, to the incredibly compassionate staff and volunteers at St Joseph’s Hospice for their end-of-life care and support. We will never forget your dedication and kindness.

The family will plan a celebration of life to be announced at a later date. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to either St. Joseph’s Hospice Sarnia or the Alzheimer Society of Sarnia-Lambton.
