🦋 You’re Invited to our annual Butterfly Release! 🦋

Join us on Sunday, June 8, 2025 for a heartfelt event hosted by Bereaved Families of Ontario – Southwest.

Together, we’ll release butterflies as symbols of remembrance, healing, and hope — honouring the loved ones who live on in our hearts.

🌿 Butterfly Pick-Up: Starting at 10:00 AM
🌿 Group Release: 11:00 AM (you may also choose to release your butterfly privately).
📍Location: BFO-SW Memory Garden at Springbank Park – London, ON (directions here: https://bfosw.ca/memory-garden/)
📅 Deadline: Order your butterfly by May 20, 2025 at noon

*Please note if you are not joining the group release at 11:00am, you may pick up your butterfly any time between 10:00am to 12:00pm.

FRIENDLY REMINDER: In preparation for spring and grass cutting season, Resurrection and Our Lady of Mercy Cemeteries respectfully request winter wreaths be removed from gravesites by April 1st. Wreaths remaining after this date, will be discarded. Tip: Set reminders in your calendar for April 1st and Nov. 1st, to ensure you can retrieve your seasonal decorations for the next year!

November 19th is National Grief & Bereavement Day

Grief is a common experience we will all share, yet it can often leave us feeling disconnected. We might feel disconnected from our loved ones, from our friends, or from who we used to be.

Finding connection through loss can be a powerful tool to help us move forward and through grief. Something as simple as a phone call, someone reaching out, a hug, a prayer, or a treasured memory shared can bring much needed solace after a loss.

Together, let’s break the silence surrounding grief. Let’s remember those we love and have lost. Let’s reflect on how we can support someone else in their grief, and ourselves in our own. Let’s connect with those around us on a journey with grief. Join us on National Grief and Bereavement Day as we collectively learn to reach out and to offer genuine support and connection to those around us.

It's time to turn your flower vases down and place your winter wreaths. It is particularly helpful to have a winter wreath in flat marker memorial areas to assist you in locating your loved ones grave during the winter months.

Be sure to mark your calendar to pick up your wreath on April 1st, 2025, if you would like to reuse your wreath next season.
