***New Fundraising Campaign***

At KKC-KDOL our mission is to provide a sacred space for the study of Buddhist philosophy and the preservation of the precious Tibetan language and culture. We are dedicated to promoting the profound teachings of the Shangpa Kagyu Lineage, ensuring these ancient wisdom traditions remain accessible to all who seek them.

KKC-KDOL has subsisted over the last 50 years through the generous support and dedicated work of many volunteers. While the last 6 years strained most non-profit societies to the breaking point, we managed to prevail through those uncertain times. With the ever-rising impacts of inflationary pressures, we now need your help to continue with our mission and maintain our facilities. We have launched a fundraising campaign with a goal to raise $15,000 to meet our centres immediate need. Progress can be tracked on the CanadaHelps link below.

Your contribution is an act of Dāna that directly supports:

- Study and Retreat Facilities: Maintaining the centre infrastructure, gompa and library for practitioners.
- Cultural Preservation: Supporting our Teachers and Lamas to provide Tibetan language classes and programs.
- Dharma Propagation: Facilitating the unique teachings of the Shangpa Kagyu lineage.

You may make your offering today via our Secure Online Portal and receive a charitable tax donation receipt immediately: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/142512. Should you wish to remain anonymous or dedicate your donation to a loved one, those features have been enabled.

May your generosity and merit bring benefit to all sentient beings.

With gratitude,

KKC-KDOL Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers

Back in stock at KKC and KDOL

The yoga of Niguma comes to us from a secret tradition passed down over hundreds of years by Buddhist yogis in Tibet. The practice originated with the eleventh-century female yogini Niguma, who mastered and transmitted a tradition of remarkable practices that culminate in physical, spiritual, and emotional wellness. In this book, His Eminence Kalu Rinpoche, a Tibetan master who holds this lineage for today’s generation, is now opening up the practice to make its extraordinary benefits accessible to the modern yogi.

Vajrasattva practice is the essential method for purifying negative karma and mental obscurations.

Mahakala is considered to be an emanation of Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva of compassion. It is believed he manifested in this form to provide a more direct protection to practitioners, combining the aspects of compassion with the power to overcome obstacles.

Medicine Buddha practice focuses on the direct realization of the mind's naturally pure nature to dissolve the "three poisons"—ignorance, attachment, and aversion—which are the root of all illness. Practitioners visualize themselves or their afflicted body parts as the deity—a transparent form of deep blue lapis lazuli light—while reciting the core mantra to invoke healing nectar that neutralizes negative karma.

Mahakala is considered to be an emanation of Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva of compassion. It is believed he manifested in this form to provide a more direct protection to practitioners, combining the aspects of compassion with the power to overcome obstacles.

Chenrezig practice is a simple and effective deity meditation practice composed by Thangtong Gyalpo (1385-1464) a very great master in Tibet. Chenrezig or the All-seeing one (or Avalokiteshvara in Sanskrit) is the embodiment of compassion, and Chenrezig practice is done to engender our own compassion.
Prerequisite: None. Practice of calm abiding meditation or Vipassana meditation is helpful.

Mahakala is considered to be an emanation of Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva of compassion. It is believed he manifested in this form to provide a more direct protection to practitioners, combining the aspects of compassion with the power to overcome obstacles.

Sundays at 9:30am with Lama Tenzin Sherpa, register and join us online or in person at KKC.

Tara is said to be the Mother of all the Buddhas; a female Buddha of compassion and wisdom who manifests in 21 different forms – some peaceful, some semi-wrathful, some fierce - and each form has their own iconography, mantra, and enlightened activity. Meditating on and praying to them can clear obstacles, enhance bodhicitta and intelligence, give long life, dispel poverty, and so on. Through gradually appreciating, practicing, and ultimately embodying Tara’s wisdom and compassion, we can make a positive difference both in ourselves and to others.

Mahakala is considered to be an emanation of Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva of compassion. It is believed he manifested in this form to provide a more direct protection to practitioners, combining the aspects of compassion with the power to overcome obstacles.

“We live in illusion and the appearance of things. There is a reality. We are that reality. When you understand this, you see that you are nothing, and being nothing, you are everything. That is all.”

Quoted in the book Breath by Breath: The Liberating Practice of Insight Meditation - The previous Kalu Rinpoche 1905-1989
