Dear Brother Knights, families, parishioners, and lay faithful,
As the 143rd Supreme Convention begins in Washington, D.C., we are honored to share a special video greeting from His Holiness Pope Leo XIV.
This marks the first papal video message to the Supreme Convention in 35 years.

In his address, the Holy Father commended the Knights’ efforts to bring fraternity and charity to their local communities. He also reminded us that, as Catholics, we should be “tangible signs of hope” for those facing hardships.

I am pleased to greet all of you gathered in Washington, D.C., for the 143rd Supreme Convention of the Knights of Columbus. I also greet those who are participating virtually in these opening ceremonies.

Savez-vous où se trouvent nos croix rurales? Do you know where our rural crosses are located?

There are 3 historical
roadside crosses in the Parish of Notre Dame de Lorette . The 4th cross was reinstated in its original spot but the opposite side of the road 207 or Old Dawson Rd near the skate Park Lot 58
The crosses were used in the late 1800s and early 1900s for direction , devotion , protection of the farmer fields and crops and there was always a school nearby
Today’s cross was considered the Cradle of the Parish. The owners who had the cross on their land were the first French Canadian family in Lorette JeanBaptiste Gauthier and Rosalie Germain
Their home became the first church, post office ,school and the first RM of Tache Council meetings were
held there.
The cross will be officially blessed on Sept 14 the feast of the Glorious Cross

A special thank you to Emile Dubois and Jamieson Bell from Border Glass who with their equipment made the er****on of the cross so very easy to accomplish. Anhugh thank you to Michel Roziere, of the parish, who built the cross
Thank you Father Mario for blessing the foundation. It was indeed a beautiful ceremony.
Thank you Chris from the Carillon , Fernand from Radio Canada CBC
and Trevor for recording this unique and historical event
Lastly, a special thank you to all those who came to live the moment with the Celebrations committee.
Thank you to all who helped make this day possible
