Objectives:
Analyze the principal ethical challenges that artificial intelligence and emerging artificial general intelligence pose across healthcare and public health and evaluate current technical and governance solutions designed to mitigate them.
Interpret the Catholic Church's magisterial guidance on AI ethics and relate these to the practical operations of Catholic hospitals and health systems.
Apply practical, Catholic-teaching-consistent strategies for deploying AI toward high-value, equitable healthcare, translating the Church's preferential option for the poor and vulnerable into concrete governance, clinical, and administrative decisions for Canadian Catholic physicians and hospital executives.
Dominique J Monlezun, MD, PhD, PhD, MPH is the world’s first triple doctorate-trained physician-data scientist and AI ethicist. He serves as Mayo Clinic’s inaugural AI Associate Program Director, a hospitalist physician, Professor of Bioethics at Mexico’s Universidad Anáhuac and Italy's Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum, Chief AI Officer for Global System Analytics & Structures, and Executive Director for the Responsible Ai and Global health Ethics (RAiGE) Lab. He created graduate medical education’s first stacked AI Executive Certifications bundled into the first Masters in Global Bioethics of AI & Governance. His life’s mission is advancing human-centered and AI-accelerated population health advances, policies, and ethics to help solve our world’s most urgent health challenges. He created Quantum Bayesian Machine and deep learning-augmented Propensity Score (QBAM-PS) statistics, AI-driven Computational Ethics and policy analysis (AiCE), Personalist Social Contract (PSC) ethics, and Personalist Quantum Metaphysics. Dr. Monlezun has served as the Principal Investigator and Senior Biostatistician-Data Scientist for over 100 randomized trials and cohort studies. He has taught hundreds of health professionals and graduate students, authored over 425 peer-reviewed papers and conference presentations in addition to the first 7 comprehensive AI textbooks, while providing medical care for underserved patients. His wife and children are his most beautiful discoveries, and greatest joy.
