❤️ Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus ❤️

This Friday, the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus—a feast that reminds us of the boundless love, mercy, and compassion of Christ for every person.

The image of the Sacred Heart points to the heart of Jesus, pierced for our sake and burning with love for humanity. It is a powerful reminder that God is not distant or indifferent to our struggles; He knows us, loves us, and continually invites us into a deeper relationship with Him.

The devotion to the Sacred Heart was given special prominence through the visions of Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque in the 17th century and continues to inspire Catholics around the world to trust in Christ's mercy and to respond to His love with hearts transformed by faith.

As we celebrate this beautiful solemnity, let us pray:
"Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in You."

Join us as we honour the Sacred Heart and give thanks for the immeasurable love of Christ, who calls each of us to find rest in His heart.

"A decade has passed since Bill C-14 received Royal Assent on 17 June 2016, legalizing euthanasia and assisted su***de across Canada, and permitting eligible adults, under specified conditions, to access what is legally termed “Medical Assistance in Dying” (“MAID”). As we mark this sobering anniversary, the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops’ (CCCB) Standing Committee for Family and Life invites the Catholic faithful and all people of goodwill to voice renewed concern about “MAID,” to remain steadfast in opposing euthanasia and assisted su***de, to pray for the conversion of hearts and minds away from this practice, and to be present to persons who are sick and vulnerable."

CORPUS CHRISTI EUCHARISTIC PROCESSION - All are invited to join us at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception for the celebration of the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ. On Sunday, June 7, immediately following the 10:00 a.m. Mass, a Eucharistic Procession will take place, proceeding prayerfully around the Cathedral block as a public witness to our faith in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. The procession will conclude with Benediction, followed by the 12:00 noon Mass celebrated by Bishop Riesbeck. “I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats of this bread will live forever.” (John 6:51) All are welcome—come and be part of this beautiful expression of our Catholic faith.

Please note: in the event of inclement weather, the procession will take place inside the church.
