Can you imagine? MCEC is doing a story about Grace Gleaners! OK, GG is not an official program. It’s something that has happened along the way – thank-you to the generosity of ViVi and partnerships with non-profits.

These beneficiaries include, but are not limited to:
Bears and Blankets, Free Books (and Read to Me Bears) – Grace specific ministries for Elderly people and school kids

Westview Centre for Women – blankets, socks, diapers, period products. Numerous groups that work with unhoused neighbours in the Queenston area – socks. Ukrainian aid through St. John’s Catholic church – socks, jogging pants, incontinence suppliers, underwear. All of this is part of the Jesus’s mandate in Matthew 25.

BEARS AND BLANKETS! 1681 Bears and Blankets Kits in 46 Long Term Care or Retirement Residences.

FREE BOOKS FOR KIDS! 3265 Free Books, 60 Library Bears, and 409 Read-to-Me Plushies at 24 schools. Plus, 100s of Socks for Soakers – I’ve given up counting.

A beautiful day in the neighbourhood yesterday – hubs and I got to deliver Bears and Blankets Care Kits, Free Books for Kids, and Read-to-me Plushies to many locations in the Niagara region yesterday. All of these items are FREE and inspected. The blankets and stuffies are washed and dried.

While I get to play Santa, it is the Elves that do the hard work. So grateful to generous donors and to VV. This labour of love and laughter could not happen without you. And thank you Grace Mennonite Church for having this as one of your outreach programs. Something Beautiful for God.

Can you imagine? I am now out of teddy bears and lap blankets and plushies. And I have a limited supply of books. I’m hoping to place all the books before summer so if you know of a place that wants board books, learning-to-read books, and books for kids already ready, let them know.

Niagara Cluster Worship Service, June 7th.

We look forward to our next Cluster Worship Service June 7th, at Linwell Church, 335 Linwell Rd. St. Catharines.
Children's Sunday School is at 9:30; the service begins at 10:30, followed by ice cream sandwiches for all.
An offering will be received for Mennonite Church Canada, Global Companions. Cheques can be made out to "Mennonite Church Canada" with 'Global Companions' in the memo line.

There will be no service at Grace Mennonite Church on June 7th. Blessings!

Also, we received a donation of adorable Teddy Bears from a woman who is moving. I gave them a good wiping and a good baking in our dryer. And eventually they'll become part of a care kit.

Next, to Westview Centre for Women. Grazia was the receiver and was thrilled with the diapers – adult and kids. And she said,
WE CAN NEVER GET ENOUGH BLANKETS. This is of any kind.

Without jobs and housing, homelessness and addiction will increase. I am grateful to all donors – you play a part in making the world a better place.
