At Scott Street, we want you to know that you are special, unique, and loved beyond what you can imagine. We want you to know that you are priceless and have an extraordinary purpose and enormous potential. We want you to know that you are defined by the infinite love of God, a love so unmeasurable that He sacrificed his own life for the exchange of yours, so you can receive freedom and abundant life. We are a church family that wants to embrace you with that love, and journey with you as we love God back and others along the way.
Our church believes that Jesus Christ was here on earth many years ago. He had a family, He got sick, He went to school, and He paid His taxes. Jesus had friends that He cared for, He dreamed at night, and had a favourite food. He felt pain, anger and happiness. He watched the sunrise. He had an imagination. Jesus was completely human, but He wasn’t only human. We believe that Jesus was also completely God.
In the Bible, the book of John tells us that Jesus was one with God in the beginning, and that He became one of us, and made His home among those He had created. Jesus is the very image of God, and took on human nature as part of His great plan to save this fallen world. Through His word and deed, He brought good news to the poor, sight to the blind, and through His death and resurrection, freedom to those made captive through sin. Jesus triumphed over sin and death.
Jesus invites anyone and everyone to be a friend of God, offering peace and freedom to those that accept it. If do you want to know more about God, let’s journey together as we follow him, love him, and learn to love others despite their limitations and mistakes. We invite you to stop by during the week, email us, or come on a Sunday when we have a Bible class from 9:30am to 10:15 for all age groups. You can ask questions, connect with others, and have a warm cup of coffee. The Worship Service starts right after, at 10:30am. We are here to love you and pray for you no matter where you are.
