If you have any questions about Knox, please feel free to send us a message! Knox Presbyterian Church is a long-established church in the heart of beautiful downtown St. Ken MacQuarrie grew up in Prince Edward Island where he was active among his Church's youth ministry & the Presbytery's camping ministry. He holds a BA (Providence College, Manitoba), BTh. (McGill University, Montreal), and MDiv.

(Presbyterian College, Montreal). In his years of ministry, he has developed skills in the areas of pastoral care, leadership, stewardship and congregational renewal. Ken began at Knox in May of 2020, shortly after the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted just about everything in our world. The months following have been an interesting challenge with unexpected blessings in the midst of strain. He has enjoyed getting to know the warm people of Knox Presbyterian Church and looks forward to what God will do in the years ahead. He and his wife, Shaunna, have two children - Jessie (14) and Ben (11). Their family enjoys every opportunity they have to connect with creation - from hiking Niagara's trails to the sweet task of caring for their honeybee colonies. MacQuarrie can be reached at 905-641-8868 x22 or [email protected]

Our director of music is Ken Hutton. Ken was born and brought up in Hamilton, later graduating from McMaster University with an honours B.A. and from the University of Toronto with a B.Ed. His professional music education includes studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music, the University of Toronto, the Eastman School of Music, Rochester, and the Westminster Choir School, Princeton. Ken has been Director of Music at Ridley College since 1999, and was Director of Music here at Knox from 1993-2004. We are delighted to welcome him back.

Tomorrow evening at Knox:
Sink or Swim — Singing Through the Noise

Séan McCann — The Shantyman — will be in St. Catharines singing new songs and Great Big Sea favourites for
anyone feeling overwhelmed by the moment we’re living in.

How do we stay afloat when the world feels louder, faster and heavier by the day? Armed with his guitar and an unwavering commitment to truth, Séan invites audiences into a shared space of reflection, resilience, and release — where singing isn’t optional, it’s essential.

These are songs about the undertow — and what we do to resist it. About finding your breath when everything feels urgent. About choosing presence over panic, connection over isolation, and humanity over noise.

Come as you are.
Leave a little lighter.
The choice is yours: Sink or Swim.

Tickets are available at the door for $50 (cash only) or online at https://www.showpass.com/sean-mccann-sos-live-in-st-catharines/ (please note that online ticket sales will cease at noon on Saturday). 7:00 pm Performance, doors open at 6:30.

Sink or Swim — Singing Through the Noise This spring, Séan McCann — The Shantyman — returns with a new set of original songs, alongside the trusted favourites audiences know and love, for anyone feeling overwhelmed by the moment we’re living in. Between constant noise, relentless headlines,...
