Magnified Realities Exhibit Feature: ROOTED - Xijia (Romee) Lai
In “Rooted”, Romee magnifies the hidden reality of spiritual rootedness, making visible the unseen ways faith shapes and sustains Ife’s journey. The merging of tree and human forms reveals the deep, often invisible connections between inner spiritual formation and outward human experience. Intertwining lines suggest roots, veins, and pathways of nourishment, while the glowing centre evokes divine lighttaking root within. Through this layered imagery, Lai enlarges the quiet interior work of faith-its power to ground, nourish, and transform through every season of becoming. As both worship and witness, the piece reflects her practice of bringing light into darkness, revealing divine presence as a living force that quietly anchors and renews from within.
