On Sunday, Rev. Barb led us in worship and Communion for the last time before beginning her sabbatical, sharing the third message in her Inventions of Summer series.

On behalf of the M&P Team and our congregation, Hugh Leamonth wished Barb well as she begins this time of rest, travel, research and personal growth.

We hope Barb has a wonderful and renewing sabbatical and look forward to welcoming her back in the new year.

As Barb begins her time away, we are pleased to have Rev. Judith Gilliland joining us at Trillium during her absence and look forward to having Judith as part of our church community in the months ahead.

Save the Date: Welcome Back Sunday is coming, September 13.

Welcome Back Sunday brings us back to the Sanctuary for our 10:30am worship service, Grandparents Day and our annual Blessing of the Backpacks as a new school year begins.

After the service, we’ll celebrate Cake Sunday, as we recognize special birthdays, anniversaries and milestones in our congregation.

Then it’s outside for one of our favourite annual Games Day! Join us for ice cream, intergenerational lawn games and lots of fun together.

Worship, cake, ice cream and Games Day, what a sweet way to start the new school year!

The Niagara Advocacy Coalition (NAC) is bringing the community together for a Public Forum on homelessness, housing and practical solutions for Niagara.

Join NAC at St. George’s Anglican Church on Saturday, September 19, from 9am to noon for an expert panel discussion, myth-busting around homelessness, and an opportunity to hear from Mayoral and Regional Councillor candidates about their commitment to addressing housing and homelessness in Niagara.

Everyone is welcome to attend, listen and be part of the conversation.

This Sunday, our Inventions of Summer worship series continues with Fireflies: Praying for One Another, fireflies that call us to hold one another in prayer.

This will also be our opportunity to wish Rev. Barb McGill well as she begins her sabbatical following the service. We look forward to welcoming her back at the beginning of January.

As Rev. Barb McGill prepares to begin her sabbatical on September 1, we are grateful that Rev. Judith Gilliland will be providing leadership at Trillium during Barb’s time away.

Judith is already a familiar and valued part of our church community, and we’re delighted to have her step into this role. We look forward to the experience, wisdom, and care she will bring in the months ahead.

Barb’s final service will be Sunday, August 30. She will be returning January 3, 2027.

Please join us in offering Judith our support and encouragement as she takes on this role, and in wishing Barb a wonderful and renewing time away.
