As we head into September, we welcome the children back to Sunday morning programs. The annual “Blessing of the Backpacks” will be held on Sunday, September 13. We invite members to bring donations of school snacks for the St Albert Food Bank. Suggested items: peanut-free granola bars, fruit cups, pudding cups, juice boxes, crackers, and shelf-stable items.

On Day 5 of CHANGING THE GAME, we celebrated a week of worship, prayer, learning and play! We invited our families in to help us to complete our board game builds, and then to be our first board game players! Our pizza-box-board-game-cafe was so much fun, and we ended it with a pizza lunch for all. We love time in fellowship with our community!

On Day 4 of CHANGING THE GAME, we perfected our camp song with our composer-in-residence, Shannon! We also dove deep into game-making, and can’t WAIT to share our games with our families tomorrow!

Our read aloud today was all about WINNING! We know that God loves us, win or lose…and that everyone actually wins when we do God’s work in the world.

On Day 3 of CHANGING THE GAME, we learned more of our camp song, made a card game to enjoy with our families AND started building our own GAME BOARDS! We also played some rousing rounds of carrot-and-cucumber tic-tac-toe. What a fun day!

After exploring more of the Beatitudes, we are even more sure that God wants ALL of us to feel God’s love and blessings. It is exciting to talk about ways that we can live our lives to make this possible for everyone.

On Day 2 of CHANGING THE GAME, we played and played and played some more! We made a prayer kit with spinners and dice. We learned the rules for Jenga and ATE a Jenga-wafer-snack too!

Today, we learned that sometimes different people play the same game in different ways, or with different rules! We know that God’s most important rule is love. God wants us to include others, no matter their circumstance, in our work and play, so that everyone can feel blessed by God.

While the weather OUTSIDE is frightful, our VBS day was DELIGHTFUL!

On Day 1 of CHANGING THE GAME, we explored MANY giant board games in our worship space! We prayed with spinners and with dice. Even our SNACK was a crackers-and-cheese gameboard! We made personalized game pieces - the first part of the personalized GAME we will make over the course of the week.

We know that being blessed means being happy to the fullest - God wants this for us, and we want this too! As we dive into the Beatitudes this week, we’ll learn many ways to think differently about who is blessed and how we can be sure that everyone feels blessed by God.
