The congregation of St. Andrew’s gathers for worship within the territory of Mi’kma’ki, the unceded, ancestral territory of the Mi’kmaq. We recognize the deep significance of this land to the Indigenous peoples who have stewarded it for generations—and who continue to do so today. We honour their spiritual and cultural connections to this territory and the care they have shown, and continue to show, for this land and its waters.
The Presbyterian Church in Canada acknowledges our own complicity in colonization and the lasting harm caused by the residential school system, in which the church played a direct role through its operation of 12 residential schools. We continue to commit ourselves to the ongoing work of truth-telling, healing, and reconciliation.
