Thank you to Chris Thayer, for organizing the men’s Psalm sing, and for this post:
Clear winter sky.
Steady fire.
Brothers gathered.
Friday night, men from our church and several sister congregations stood around the flames and sang the imprecatory Psalms — not songs of revenge, but prayers for justice.
“Arise, O Lord.”
“Defend the righteous.”
“Judge wickedness.”
The Psalms don’t ignore evil.
They teach us to bring it before a holy God.
There’s something powerful about men standing shoulder to shoulder, lifting their voices, trusting the King to set things right.
No spectacle.
Just firelight, Scripture, and faith.
