Tomorrow is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Here is our prayer as the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada, followed by a link to further resources:

We recognize, along with our country, that there is
still truth to be learned about this land which God
created and we now enjoy.

We continue to seek reconciliation with the First
Peoples, and we want to learn how to walk together
in truth, humility, mutual respect, and friendship;
listening to and learning from one another; receiving
the gifts that each of us brings.

We understand that this entails more than one day
of acknowledgement, and we seek to be led by the
Creator in all our ways, every day.

May the Lord have mercy and forgive us for what
we know we've done wrong as His people in
Canada, and show us what we don't yet
understand.

‘Lord of all, continue to lead us as we
steward this land and journey together’.
Amen.

As you continue to pray, please consider how you may give in relief.

Please join us in praying for Venezuela. 🙏🇻🇪

Venezuela has been struck by two devastating earthquakes within a minute of each other, measuring 7.5 and 7.2 in magnitude. At least 589 people have lost their lives and nearly 3,000 have been injured, with numbers expected to rise as rescue efforts continue in densely populated areas, including Caracas.

This disaster has worsened an already fragile humanitarian situation, as millions of people in Venezuela were already in need of assistance before the earthquakes. Please join us in praying for the people of Venezuela as they rescue efforts, clean-up, and continue grieving. Pray for those who have lost loved ones, for the injured, for first responders and local leaders, and for communities beginning to rebuild.

CBM is accepting donations for those who wish to support the emergency response. We will be responding through our trusted global church networks to ensure that funds reach those in need in affected communities.

This Sunday in Canada we celebrate Father's Day. At Broadmoor we choose to honor all men in attendance holding to the principle of gratitude for the men in our lives that have provided godly example and counsel. Your faith is an inspiration. As such, we will have a small gift of appreciation for all men in attendance on the 21st.
