We were honoured to welcome Shaykh Ibraheem Menk of Zimbabwe tonight at Richmond Masjid for an inspiring lecture on Sabr (patience and perseverance).

Drawing lessons from the Qur’anic story of Musa (Moses) and Khidr (عليهما السلا), Shaykh Ibraheem reminded us that Allah’s wisdom may not always be immediately apparent and that patience requires trust in Allah, even when we don’t understand the journey.

He also emphasized the importance of being consistent with our Salaah, holding firmly onto our relationship with Allah, and never losing hope in His mercy.

A beautiful reminder for all of us: Be patient, stay steadfast, keep praying, and never give up hope in Allah.

Jazakum Allahu Khairan to everyone who joined us tonight, and to Shaykh Ibraheem Menk for the heartfelt reminder.

Indeed, to Allah we belong, and indeed, to Him we will return.”

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’oon.

It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Shaykh Saeed Abubakari (رحمة الله عليه) in Tamale, Ghana.

Shaykh Saeed was a man of great calibre who served as the Imam of Victoria’s Muslim community from 1997 to 2007, following the departure of Shaykh Younus Kathrada.

In 2007, after the passing of the head Imam and village chief in Tamale, Shaykh Saeed returned to Ghana, where he dedicated himself to serving his people as a respected Islamic scholar and tribal leader. He devoted his life to teaching and preaching Islam, while providing spiritual, moral, and religious guidance to the Anbariya Sunni Muslim community.

His profound Islamic knowledge, leadership, humility, and years of service touched countless lives. His legacy will live on through the many people who learned from him, were guided by him, and benefited from his dedication to the Deen.

May Allah forgive Shaykh Saeed, shower him with His mercy, illuminate and expand his grave, accept his lifelong service to Islam, and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.

May Allah accept him among His righteous servants and reunite him with them in the highest levels of Jannah. Ameen.

NOTICE OF PARKING LOT CLOSURE
Saturday, September 5th at 8 AM

Please be advised that the parking stall lines at the Richmond Masjid are being repainted tomorrow morning (Saturday) from 8 AM until 1 PM.

Musallees are requested to leave the Masjid and vacate the property after Shurooq (sunrise) in order for the work to get started on time and be completed by Salatul Dhuhr.

No vehicles are to be parked on the lot after 8 AM.
