Tomorrow is the last day to register for YCOM Academy: Logos!
Here are a few announcements before the event this weekend:
• We will be starting the event with morning Mass, so please arrive on time and wear Mass-appropriate clothing! Please also wear black so that we can be easily distinguished from the parishioners around the venue, and so that our CCs can keep an eye on us more easily.
• Try to bring your own equipment for the workshops, but if you don't have a camera/laptop/tablet, don't worry! There may be spares you can borrow, but you can also use your phones if needed.

See you on Saturday!

Today the Catholic Church celebrates Divine Mercy Sunday. We are called in a special way to remember Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, His perfect love and mercy pouring out from His side and onto the whole world.

“I am love and mercy itself. ... Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet. ... My mercy is greater than your sins, and those of the entire world. ... I let My Sacred Heart be pierced with a lance, thus opening wide the source of mercy for you. Come then with trust to draw graces from this fountain. ... The graces of My mercy are drawn by the means of one vessel only, and that is trust. The more a soul trusts, the more it will receive” (Jesus speaking to St. Faustina).

Take ten minutes today to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Ask God to reveal Himself to you through His mercy which heals all wounds and seeks to give the peace we so desperately need.

In every challenge and circumstance, let us pray to receive the grace to say three simple words as a declaration of our faith and hope: Jesus, I trust in you!

Happy Divine Mercy Sunday GVA! ❤️💙

This week we celebrate the Easter Octave: eight days of commemorating the Resurrection of Christ all the way to the Second Sunday of Easter which is also Divine Mercy Sunday.

May we continue to keep the risen Christ at the centre of our lives, allowing His light to illuminate our entire being and shine through our hearts to love those closest to us.

“We are an Easter people and Alleluia is our song!” (Pope St. John Paul II)

Happy Easter GVA! 🤍

Today the Catholic Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Annunciation: the moment when Mary said ‘yes’ to the Will of God, and when Word became flesh.

Even in the midst of Lent, we are invited to commemorate this special feast by expressing our gratitude for Mother Mary’s Fiat, and asking for her intercession so we may also have the same trust in God’s plan for our lives.

How will you say yes to God’s will today?

Most Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us! 💙

The Catholic Church dedicates the month of February to the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.

Pope Leo XIV calls them “the perfect model” of a family, the greatest example of the greatest gift God has given to humanity and reflected on His own children in the Catholic Church - the Body of Christ here on Earth.

St. Teresa of Calcutta said, “If you want to bring happiness to the whole world, go home and love your family.”

Whether that means washing the dishes when you notice the sink is full, asking your parent or sibling how they are doing, or spending time in personal prayer to lift up each of the members in your family, let us take this month to honour the Holy Family by loving our own family through small acts of service done with great love.

St. Joseph, Chaste Guardian of the Virgin, pray for us.

Mama Mary, Holy Mother of God, pray for us.

Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, have mercy on us.

Most Holy Family, pray for us.

When Blessed Miguel Pro stood in front of a firing squad after being falsely accused for a crime he didn’t commit, he raised his arms in imitation of the Crucified Christ and shouted three words: “Viva Christo Rey!” “Long Live Christ the King!”

As we celebrated the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe this past Sunday, and prepare for Advent, let us remember the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross for all of mankind.

Since we are the beloved sons and daughters of the King, let us also remember we are princes and princesses of the One who reigns forever.

Let the example of Bl. Miguel Pro serve as a reminder of our true purpose in life: to serve our King faithfully and with our whole heart.

Blessed Miguel Pro, pray for us!

This past Saturday, we celebrated the feast day of Saint Cecilia: the patron saint of music and musicians.

A convert to Christianity, she made a vow of virginity, and converted four hundred people to the faith, including the man she was forced to marry and his brother. These actions ultimately led to her being arrested, captured, and martyred. Now, the Church remembers her example of purity and courage, remaining faithful to God to the very end of her life.

St. Cecilia’s enduring devotion to God and love for everyone she encountered reminds us that our treasure is not in worldly possessions but in heavenly gifts.

Let us remember in particular the gift of music God has given us to glorify him through truth and beauty. How will what you listen to, sing, or play, give honour and praise to the Giver of All Good Things?

St. Cecilia, pray for us! 🎶🎤🎹 🎸🥁

Today we celebrate the feast of St. Teresa of Avila, a mystic, writer, and one of the first women to be declared a Doctor of the Church. Yet above all, she is known for her deep friendship with Jesus.

St. Teresa’s relationship with Christ was so intimate that she could speak to Him with the honesty and warmth of a dear friend (as in the story where she fell off her donkey!). She was a courageous nun who reformed the Carmelite Order, calling her sisters to live in poverty, simplicity, and humility. At the same time, she was a woman of humour, unafraid to be completely transparent and vulnerable before the Lord.

Her life reminds us that holiness is deeply personal, born from a friendship with Jesus that knows no fear in being fully ourselves before Him.

Dearest St. Teresa, faithful friend of Jesus, pray for us, that we may come to know and love Him as freely and joyfully as you did! ❤️‍🔥
