As we start the Season of Creation this month, we give thanks for the words and witness of the poet and writer, Wendell Berry.

We mourn his passing and celebrate the gift that his life and words were and what better way to start this season than with his poem,
The Peace of the Wild Things.

When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

Are you looking for a way to help our community? Why not join our Sandwich Ministry? In partnership with the Richmond Foodbank, St. Anne's sandwich makers assemble over 350 sandwiches each day and deliver them to Richmond Schools.

We are looking for both sandwich makers and drivers.

We are once again collecting new backpacks and school supplies for children in Richmond.
Donations can be dropped off at our church office until Thursday, September 3.

Join us for a fun walk starting at No 1 Rd & Bayview in Steveston - along the south boardwalk to Britannia Shipyards - on Saturday, July 25 beginning at 11 am! We'll have our St. Anne's banner and look forward to representing our welcoming loving parish family to our Richmond community. Hope to see you there!
