Richmond Hill United Church

Richmond Hill United Church Welcome to Richmond Hill United Church (RHUC), a vibrant Christian faith community located at 10201 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill RHUC is an affirming ministry.

All are welcome to join us for Sunday morning services at 10:30. At the present time we are safely seating 75 people and ask that all who attend to please wear a mask. RHUC combines a liberal theology with an active commitment to social justice issues. Reflecting this, the membership is diverse both culturally and socio-economically, and in terms of traditional and non-traditional family structure

s. RHUC is recognized for the quality of its worship services and for other programming for adults and younger people, including Sunday morning programming for children and teenagers, two choirs (youth and chancel/adult), Djembe Drumming and adult study groups. Members of RHUC are also actively involved in addressing important needs in the local community (e.g. breakfast program for local elementary school children; programs and housing for at risk youth; Out-of-the-Cold programs) and internationally (e.g. refugee support and advocacy). RHUC is a centre for many community activities and actively seeks out partnerships with other community, faith-based and social service organizations.

As I return from my summer leave, I would love to share one of the meaningful experiences from my time away.

It is hard to believe that 19 months have passed since I first received an invitation from The United Church of Canada to co-lead worship with The Presbyterian Church in Canada for Collective 2026. This summer, that long journey came to life at Brock University as we welcomed more than 500 young people and leaders from across Canada.

I am grateful for the openness and trust that allowed creativity to flow and brought these liturgies to life. We shared goldfish crackers and grapes for Communion, offered beaded fish, danced and tossed beach balls during worship, and even replaced hymns with a DJ set one evening. Together, we transformed our worship space into a beach and a campfire. It was also a great joy to welcome the Moderators and General Secretaries of both denominations.

Thank you to the wonderful worship team and everyone who made this experience possible.

Now, I am glad to be returning home to Richmond Hill United Church. I look forward to seeing you this Sunday, September 6, for worship in Centennial Hall!

A reminder for those who haven't got the memo! We will be having a pause in worship for the month of August as we rest, renew and reflect.

Take this time for your own worship, and we'll see you again in September.
