“Our hearts go out to all those affected by the wildfires,” said Elder M. Shayne Olsen. “We are grateful for the opportunity to support the organizations dedicated to bringing aid and comfort to those in need during this difficult time.”

As devastating wildfires continue to sweep across British Columbiad prompting a provincial state of emergency, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has committed $225,000 in emergency assistance.

We all confront trials and opposition in our lives. It's a part of our journey here on earth. We may become frustrated, discouraged even distracted when it seems as though the storm clouds of trials have blocked Gods rays of light.

Remember always that the lord does speak to his children, you are his child. Though the clouds may have covered the rays, the sun is still shining through ever so slightly to give you just enough light to navigate yourself through. It will be challenging but storms don't last forever. The rain will stop and the clouds will part and you will hear the Lord more clearly again, you will feel the warmth of His love and he will continue to guide you every day.

"11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake:

12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice."

The temple- the house of the Lord.

In 1 kings 6-7 we find a very detailed description of the temple Solomon built for the Lord. Temples help us to make more covenants with the Lord. We deepen our relationship with him as we make and keep these sacred covenants. What a blessing it is that we have a temple here in Regina.

David defied all odds. He had total faith in the Lord the that he would be delivered. Before facing Goliath, David remembered moments in his past where the Lord showed up for him, moments he was delivered. Remembering spiritual experiences is a powerful tool we have to keep our faith strong in our weakest most trialing moments.

The Lord looks past outward appearance. He sees us for who we truly are. He sees our hearts, our intentions, our desires. He understands us completely. Where man may judge and dismiss, the Saviour stands with open arms🤍.
