Source

Source is now hosted by 6 parishes in the city! What started as a little gathering 15 years ago has now become a monthly place of encounter, worship, and fellowship for hundreds and, dary we say, thousands of high school students over the years. It has grown and evolved, and yet fundamentally remains the same: a place for high school students to belong, to be themselves, and to grow on their faith journey.

Although geared towards high school students, all are welcome to attend.

Source highlights:

Supper - Always free and served with a side of fellowship
Talk - This year, we're trying something new! Get to know someone and their walk with Jesus in a 3 part series.
Adoration - Music, confession, prayer ministry and Jesus!
Dessert - End the evening with a sweet little treat and a chat with a friend.

Schedule: Source runs 6 - 9 p.m.

September 13 - Resurrection
October 4 - St Martin
November 1 - St Cecilia
December 6 - Holy Family

And more into the new year!

22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time - August 30, 2026

Reflection

Today’s Gospel illustrates a dramatic conflict between Jesus and Peter. Like Peter, we often try to insulate ourselves from hardships. We expect power, perfection or wealth will protect us from suffering.

Yet Jesus warns us there can be no hope of eternal life without these trials. We must place our trust in him to guide us and share our burdens.

August 30, 2026 - 22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time

"What profit would there be for one to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?" -- Matthew 16:26

St. Francis of Assisi said, "Remember, you are what you are in the eyes of God, and nothing else."

We often forget this stewardship wisdom when we spend all of our time, talent and treasure to gain more of the world's riches. We need to set our priorities based on God's values and not the values of the material world.

"Everything, even sweeping, scraping vegetables, weeding a garden and waiting on the sick, could be a prayer, if it were offered to God."
