DAILY DEVOTIONAL.

PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME Dsc. Dsc. DD.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 5TH 2025.

YOU WERE BORN FOR THIS.

…And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this (Esther 4:14 NIV).

The verse we just read is part of the words with which Mordecai challenged Esther to take a stand against the heinous and devious plan of Haman to annihilate the Jews. Esther didn’t know she was part of a divine setup until Mordecai opened her eyes. Her position as queen wasn’t for comfort; it was for a purpose. The same is true of you.

There’s nothing accidental about your life. Predestination is at work in you. Your birth, your placement, and your assignment in the Kingdom are all divinely orchestrated. You were born for such a time as this, strategically positioned by God to influence and impact your world for His glory.

God placed you in your family, workplace, city, and nation as a soul winner and Kingdom ambassador. Everything about you—your education, talents, resources, and personality—has been given to you for Kingdom use. Don’t withhold your voice when it’s needed. Don’t retreat in fear when you’re meant to speak up and take a stand for the Gospel and advance in faith. Live unto Christ and fulfil His purpose for your life.

2 Corinthians 5:15 says, “And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.” Let nothing hinder or deter you from passionately spreading the good news of Christ’s salvation. That’s your number one job in the earth: “And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:18).

Let your light shine where and when it matters most. Like Esther, you must boldly declare, “If I perish, I perish,” because living for the Lord, fulfilling His will and purpose is worth everything. You’ve been trained and called to this. Now is the time to act and say like Paul, “But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God” (Acts 20:24).

PRAYER .

Dear Father, thank you for choosing and positioning me for such a time as this. I am bold, ready and willing to fulfil your purpose for my life. I declare that my light shines brightly, and I make lasting impact for the Kingdom wherever I go, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

TOPIC: YIELD TO CORRECTION .

And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry... (1 Samuel 15:22-23).

The words of Samuel to King Saul reveal a powerful insight into the danger of disobedience. Saul had received clear instructions from God through the Prophet Samuel, but he chose his own course of action. Then Samuel reproved him, saying, “...to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams” (1 Samuel 15:22).

Notice that obedience takes precedence over sacrifice. God is more interested in your living out His Word, doing the Word, than in any religious gesture. Then he goes further to equate not doing what the Lord says to witchcraft, “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft....” That’s a remarkable comparison. Disobedience produces rebellion.

He continues by saying “…and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry....” Rebellion, when sustained, becomes stubbornness. And what is stubbornness? It’s the refusal to accept correction. It’s an insistence on one’s own way in disregard of godly counsel and instructions. The Bible says this is equivalent to idolatry. That’s because in such a state, the individual exalts and sees himself as his own authority. He esteems his own opinions above God’s Word. That is self-worship, and self-worship is idolatry.

When someone disobeys and insists on their own way, they enter into rebellion. If they’re corrected and still will not change, they’re stubborn. And stubbornness, according to God’s Word, is iniquity and idolatry. So, never take the corrections of the Spirit or the instructions from the Word lightly. To reject correction is to make an idol of yourself. But to humbly yield to the Word is wisdom

PRAYER..

Dear Father, thank you for the clarity and power of your Word and the transformation it brings to my life. My heart is tender and yielded to your instructions and guidance always. I esteem your voice above every other opinion or preference, and I walk in submission to your will, and I live in the liberty and joy of righteousness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

TOPIC: LIFTING YOUR HANDS TO THE LORD.

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice (Psalm 141:2).

When people are asked to lift their hands in worship during a church service, some respond mechanically or not at all, often because they haven’t been trained in spiritual things. If they truly understood the spiritual significance of lifting their hands to the Lord, it wouldn’t be a struggle.

Years ago, in some meetings, I made an important observation: many of those who were healed had been unable to lift their hands due to pain. This caught my attention, and I asked the Spirit of God why so many people had this problem. He said, “I told them to worship with hands lifted; I instructed that all men pray everywhere lifting up holy hands, but they wouldn't.” Years later, they found themselves unable to lift their hands without effort or pain. The lesson there was this: had they been worshipping with their hands lifted regularly, as God had instructed, such limitations wouldn’t have developed. But thank God for His grace that brought them healing. Never think that lifting your hands is unnecessary or even embarrassing while you’re praying or worshipping the Lord. It’s an act of faith, spiritual responsiveness, and yieldedness to the Spirit.

Even if lifting your hands was a painful effort before you became a Christian, keep practicing lifting them to the Lord in worship. By so doing, you’re acting on the Word. Before long, those same hands will rise higher and higher, effortlessly and without pain. Hebrews 12:12-13 says, “...lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.”

Many of God’s children suffer physically, not because something is inherently wrong but because they neglect to do what the Word says, and Satan capitalizes on that. So, learn to act on the Word. Let your spirit train your body in worship. Keep lifting your hands in praise and you’ll experience such glory in your life that you never imagined.

PRAYER...

Dear Father, I thank you for the privilege and blessing of worshipping you with my hands lifted in reverence and in love. There’s none like you. You’re great and mighty, the King of all and God of all flesh who alone has immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. To you be honour and everlasting power forever. Amen.

THE BLESSING MAKES THE DIFFERENCE.

The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it (Proverbs 10:22).

What sets you apart in life isn’t your education, family background, or connections; it’s the blessing of the Lord. The blessing of the Lord is a spiritual force that produces undeniable results. It is empowerment for success, fruitfulness and increase. And as a child of God, you carry this blessing.

Psalm 1:3 gives a description of the one who’s blessed of the Lord: “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” Glory to God! When God blessed Abraham, He empowered him to prosper and influence nations; and Galatians 3:9 declares, “...they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.” That includes you.

The blessing works beyond logic, human comprehension and understanding. It’s what made Isaac prosper during famine: “Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him” (Genesis 26:12-14). The blessing was what made Jacob to prevail with Laban despite Laban’s treachery (Genesis 29:21-31; Genesis 30:25-43).

It was the blessing that made a slave like Joseph become a Prime Minister in Egypt. The blessing doesn't rely on favourable conditions; it creates them. It causes you to succeed in spite of opposition and adversities, and shine in the darkest places. This is your life now that you’re born again; you’re already blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3).

Walk in the consciousness that you’re the blessed of the Lord. Acknowledge it. Speak it. Declare every so often that you’re blessed. The blessing isn’t a vague idea; it is tangible. It manifests in health, wisdom, favour, open doors, and supernatural supply. It attracts help, provision and promotion.

You’re not governed by the economy, policies, and systems of this world. You live under the government of Heaven, in the fullness of the blessings of Christ. That’s your advantage. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for blessing me with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. The blessing is my advantage, producing increase, health, wisdom and divine favours; I function in supernatural advantage and walk in prosperity with peace, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

POSSESSING THE GATES OF YOUR ENEMIES.

...and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies (Genesis 22:17).
When God reaffirmed His covenant with Abraham after he offered Isaac, He made a profound promise: “...thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies.” This wasn’t just about land or territory. In biblical terms, the “gate” of a city represented authority, governance and control. Therefore, to possess the gate means to take charge spiritually, economically and politically; to be in dominion.

That promise wasn't just for Abraham’s immediate descendants. Galatians 3:16 makes it clear: “Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made… And to thy seed, which is Christ.” Being in Christ means you’re Abraham’s seed and a joint-heir of this promise. This means you’re not a victim of circumstances. You have dominion. You have authority over the adversary.

You’re empowered to dominate the systems of this world for the Kingdom of God. You can influence education, government, business, technology—whatever field God has placed you in. Take possession. Remember what the Bible says, “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force” (Matthew 11:12).

This is about inheritance, influence and victory. Exercise dominion in every area of your life and your world. You’re not here to barely survive—you’re here to reign! So, rise up and speak. Take possession through prayer, your faith-filled declarations, and action. Don’t watch evil dominate your environment; cast it out. Possess the “gates” through the authority in the Name of Jesus.

CONFESSION.

I am Abraham’s seed and an heir of the promise. I possess the gates of my enemies. I take charge in my city, my nation, and my world. I influence systems and structures for the Kingdom of God. I walk in dominion and victory today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
