In the mid-second century, the bishops of Rome decided to deviate from observing Passover.
The Churches of the East held to this Scriptural practice, as observed by Jesus and the early disciples.
In the 190s AD, Victor was the bishop of Rome. He tried to intimidate Polycrates, bishop of Ephesus, to give up practicing Passover.
Polycrates responded in a letter preserved by Eusebius. He testified to the observance of Passover.
