As the sun set tonight, we welcome the blessed month of Muharram which means it is the beginning of the new Islamic year.

Muharram is one of the sacred months and a beautiful opportunity to renew our intentions, increase in worship, and draw closer to Allah.

Among the great opportunities in this month are:

- Fasting on the Day of ‘Ashura (10th Muharram) - a means for expiation of the previous year’s sins.

The start of the Islamic calendar was set by ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb رضي الله عنه, who based the first year when the Prophet ﷺ migrated (made Hijrah) from Makkah to Madīnah.

It is now 1448 years since the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ's migration to the city of Madīnah

🕋 The Day of Arafah Has Arrived 🕋

It's the Day of ARAFAH - the GREATEST DAY of the year.

The Prophet (peace & blessings be on him) said, "There is no day on which Allah Almighty frees people from the Fire more so than on the Day of Arafah". [Muslim]

This is a Day where we need to strive to accumulate as many good deeds as we can.

On this blessed day, you can help support the Red Deer Islamic Center.

We need 50 SPECIAL PEOPLE to commit to donate $100 monthly so we can pay the $5000 per month expenses of our masjid.

For every single person who prays Salah in this masjid, for every verse of the Qur'an they read, and every act of Worship they perform… you get a share of that reward - for life.

So hurry... and earn the BEST of rewards today.
