Starting September 5th, 2026
Dear Parishioners,
With Bishop Brehl's announcement of Sunday Masses being suspended in many parishes across the Pontiac, we are called to grow deeper in our relationship with Christ, remembering that His grace is sufficient to carry our crosses.
I know these changes will be difficult for everyone and there's a lot of work to be done to bring our parish communities together. Please know that, although this time of transition is also difficult for me, I am looking forward to taking up my new responsibility as your priest and working together to keep everyone's focus on Jesus in the midst of these trials.
The first order of business is the Sunday Mass schedule. After discussions with the Bishop, the Diocesan Personnel Committee, Fr. Smith and Fr. Ouellette we have agreed on a weekend schedule to serve the Pontiac:
- St. Alphonsus, Chapeau - Sunday, 9 a.m. (Bilingual)
- St. Pierre, Fort-Coulonge - Sunday, 9 a.m. (English) & 10:30 a.m. (French)
- St. John the Evangelist, Campbell's Bay - Saturday, 5 p.m. (French) & Sunday, 11 a.m. (English)
- Holy Name of Mary, Quyon - Sunday, 9 a.m. (Bilingual)
I will be sending out other announcements in the next couple weeks regarding various meetings; e.g. finance councils, choirs, & lectors, to help bring our parishes together and serve the needs of all of our communities.

Chers paroissiens,
Suite à l'annonce de Mgr Brehl concernant la suspension des messes dominicales dans de nombreuses paroisses du Pontiac, nous sommes appelés à approfondir notre relation avec le Christ, en nous souvenant que sa grâce suffit à porter nos croix.
Je sais que ces changements seront difficiles pour tous et qu'il y a beaucoup à faire pour rassembler nos communautés paroissiales. Sachez que, même si cette période de transition est également difficile pour moi, je me réjouis d'assumer ma nouvelle responsabilité de prêtre et de travailler ensemble pour que chacun garde les yeux fixés sur Jésus au milieu de ces épreuves.
La première chose à faire est l'horaire des messes dominicales. Après des discussions avec l'évêque, le comité diocésain du personnel, le père Smith et le père Ouellette, nous avons convenu d'un horaire pour la fin de semaine pour le Pontiac :
- Saint-Alphonse, Chapeau – Dimanche, 9 h (bilingue)
- Saint-Pierre, Fort-Coulonge – Dimanche, 9 h (anglais) et 10 h 30 (français
- Saint-Jean l'Évangéliste, Campbell's Bay - Samedi, 17 h (français) et dimanche, 11 h (anglais) - Saint-Nom-de-Marie, Quyon - Dimanche, 9 h (bilingue)
Je vous enverrai d'autres annonces dans les prochaines semaines concernant diverses réunions, par exemple les conseils financiers, les chorales et les lecteurs, afin de renforcer les liens entre nos paroisses et de répondre aux besoins de toutes nos communautés.
