We walked in front of this beautiful Ukrainian Orthodox church in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. It is more than just a place of worship. The silver domes and traditional Orthodox crosses tell a story that began more than a century ago when Ukrainian immigrants came to the Canadian Prairies looking for land, opportunity, and a new beginning.

As thousands of Ukrainian families settled across Saskatchewan in the late 1800s and early 1900s, they built churches like this to preserve their language, traditions, culture, and faith. These churches became the center of community life, hosting weddings, baptisms, celebrations, and helping newcomers build a life in an unfamiliar land.

Places like this are reminders that every town has stories waiting to be discovered — and sometimes the buildings tell them before anyone says a word.

A Divine Liturgy will be held before each Provodu at Holy Trinity UOCC in Prince Albert at 10:00 am
