From the Prince Albert Daily Herald, Friday, June 3, 1955:

"Birthday party, farewell party and convention were all wrapped up in the same festive parcel when the Women's Auxiliary of the Church of England in Canada held their 50th anniversary banquet last evening. Farewells were said to three retiring churchworkers, Rev. Canon Ahenakew who plans retirement within the district and the Venerable Archdeacon Paul and Ms. Paul who will return to Ireland. Miss E. Whelpley (Fred Payton's godmother) proposed a toast to the Dominion Board Woman's Auxiliary. The evening closed with a vote of thanks for the banquet, convened by the ladies of the United Church and the Benediction by Bishop Martin."

Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God the Almighty, Which was and which is, and which is to come.

This Sunday we honour the doctrine of the Trinity, the hope of the resurrection and the everlasting love and honour of our connection with the three in one God. I invite you to give thanks to God for his love and our salvation. Express your reverence to our Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Live in Christ and through the Holy Spirit proclaim your faith in all that you say and do. Know that our Heavenly Father loves us and in spite of the hardships of our earthly existence there is the eternal love and beauty in our everlasting life.

From the Archives:

The Cathedral Chimes from May-June 1972 reports that "Saturday Morning with the Dean" will be on June 10 instead of the usual first Saturday. Mr. Ken Lyons gave the "Chimes" an interesting report of the various activities of this lively group. The Dean and the children get to know each other and join in many creative activities including singing (like that which we enjoyed on Whitsunday), drama, discussions, making of posters, banners and so on. The highlight of the gathering is the Dean's talk to and with the children. Mr. Lyons reports that some members of the Youth Group have been actively helping, but that more helpers are needed.

Pentecost Prayer Shawl blessing with Bishop Richard Reed and Rev. Deacon David Zulkoskey.

As a Cathedral parish, we are deeply thankful for the love, time, and prayers woven into each prayer shawl by each person who is part of this important ministry. They are a gentle embrace, a reminder that someone cares, and a source of comfort during life’s difficult moments. The kindness behind them wraps not only the body but also the heart, offering warmth, hope, and peace to those who receive them.
