The friends and members of the Sherkston U.B. church will hold an ice cream festival on the beautiful lawn of George Zavitz on Wednesday evening, Aug. 25th. Admission 15c. After supper a good programme will be given.

The Sherkston U.B. and Kennedy’s Hall Methodist Sunday schools held their annual picnic at Crystal Beach on Thursday of last week. The wagon, drawn by two black teams, conveying the children from Sherkston, was decorated with evergreens, the tops being brought together, making a nice shady place for the children. Altogether it presented a beautiful appearance. The ladies deserve praise for the elegant dinner they put up; many said it was the best picnic dinner they had ever partaken of. The attendance was very large, and all appeared to enjoy themselves to the upmost, returning in the evening feeling all the better for a day’s outing.

One of the challenges I was given some years ago was to be more intentional in my life. It is so easy just to drift along and "go with the flow" - even if the flow isn't moving in a good direction. This is true of our relationship with God - we tend to drift away from him, never towards him. Join us this Sunday as we explore how we can avoid spiritually drifting.
