PRAYER FOR MOTHERS:

Almighty God, who sent forth Your Son to be born of a woman, the Virgin Mary, and who by His holy incarnation did in truth cause her to be the very Mother of God, thereby crowning and honouring all motherhood, grant Your perpetual favour and blessing upon all mothers that they may find joy, comfort and forgiveness in You, that they in turn may be a blessing to their children. Bless the memory of those who have passed from this vale of tears to Your heavenly glory, and leave us not comfortless. Strengthen all pregnant women and protect them and their children through the perils of labour and delivery to the day of Baptism and to life everlasting. Comfort all women who long to have children but cannot, that they may find consolation in You and Your unfailing love. Grant also to our mothers, and to us all, an increase of faithfulness and love, that through Your holy Word we may all grow in the true Faith, joyfully receive all your loving benefits, and continually praise Your holy name; through Jesus Christ Your Son, our Lord. Amen.
