This coming Sunday we will examine true love, as defined by God, which involves confronting sin and upholding righteousness. It is not a love that condones evil or ignores rebellion, but rather a love that rescues from sin and meets the standard of righteousness through Christ. This love is not cheap or sentimental, but rather costly and transformative, fulfilling God’s standards through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. It's the kind of love that at times is compelled to share difficult news.

Unrighteousness is known through masking or adulterating truth as Romans 1:18 reveals, "who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth." It is the hand that comforts you while you walk toward the edge of a cliff. It is the doctor who assuringly smiles at your cancer diagnosis instead of seeking ways to remove it. It is the judge who hands the prisoner a free pass so he can pursue his next victim. It's the spouse who never objects to marital infidelity, but turns a blind eye, not loving, but rather a participant. It's a parent who refuses to discipline a rebellious child, not love, but rather selfishness.

A God who refuses to draw the line between righteousness and wickedness is not loving—but is cruel, complicit, and enabling. Not the God of the Bible!

Psalm 105:2 "Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works!"

Everyone is welcome to join us this Saturday from 1pm to 4pm at the Port Burwell Memorial Park for our annual Worship in the Park Event. There will be a time of fellowship, fun for the kids and worshipping our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Grab your lawn chairs, bring some friends, and see you there!!
