It hardly seems possible, but this Sunday is the next-to-last time that our Pastoral Minister, Jessica Gauthier, will be leading us in worship. It has been such a gift to have her among us and she will be missed.💟

Come, then, to hear Abram’s threshold story: a call to leave, to trust, and to become a blessing. On this Pentecost season Sunday, as we give thanks for what has been and wait for what is becoming, we will gather to listen for God’s Spirit and to open ourselves to the love that leads us onward.👣

As we end this season of Community Connections lunches and sandwich-making for Bread and Beyond, we want to give a huge shoutout and 🌟 THANK YOU 🌟 to Provigo Le Marché Kirkland Jean Paquette for their incredibly generous support all year long. 🍞 When we picked up the boxes of bread and tuna and mayonnaise and salads for today’s event, we saw the inspiring sign in their foyer—we’re so grateful we get to bring our community to life together!👏

And to all our volunteers who made those 200+ sandwiches today (with love, always with love 💙), who prepared and served the lunch, washed the dishes, offered a listening ear, and stayed until the end to help—🌟 THANK YOU 🌟 too! You are amazing.

We were so glad we got to end the day by delivering all those sandwiches to Ricochet Hébergement/Homes. It can feel like we can’t make a difference sometimes, but today was another reminder that yes, yes we can—together. 🥪

🧸 Connect with other parents and preschoolers at Mini Connections Play Group/Groupe de jeu (9 - 11 AM). Check out our Comfort Pantry with kids' and maternity clothes while you're there.

☕️ Enjoy a hot drink and a snack at the Community Café in the Meeting Room (9:30 - 11 AM, suggested donation $5)

🥪 Have a simple lunch and stay to make sandwiches for our neighbours experiencing residential insecurity at Wednesday Community Connections (11:30 AM - 3 PM)

🥫 Access the Comfort Food Freezer and Comfort Pantry where you can take or share meals, snacks and food basics.

👟 Leave donations. We're proud to be the "Love Hub" for Bread and Beyond on the West Island! That means you can leave donations for them with us and we'll make sure it all gets to NDG.

♿ This National AccessAbility Week, you can help remove the barriers that quietly exclude people every day by helping create a more inclusive society, and it starts with starting the conversation!

This week was inspired by Canada’s Rick Hansen who wheeled around the world to challenge barriers and change perceptions about disability on the Man In Motion World Tour.

At Cedar Park United, we recognize that accessibility must be an ongoing project. We are proud of the fact that most of our spaces are wheelchair accessible, but we know we can do more to promote inclusion of visually impaired and hearing impaired people, and to accommodate neurodivergence.

We are proud to be part of a growing movement that recognizes accessibility as both a human right and a shared responsibility.
