🍂 "Thanksliving" An invitation to worship

This morning’s Thanksgiving worship will centre on the Gospel story of the ten people healed by Jesus, and the one who turns back to give thanks. It is a story that invites us not simply to be grateful, but to pay attention—to notice the grace and goodness already present in our lives.

Our theme will be “Thanksliving.” Thanksgiving is about more than counting our blessings. Gratitude can change the way we live. It can lead us to greater generosity, deeper care for one another, concern for the earth, and a renewed commitment to reconciliation and justice. The gifts we receive are not meant to stop with us; they are meant to flow through us into the lives of others.

Our guest musician will be Leo Purich. Music will also celebrate the spirit of the day, including "All Creatures of Our God and King", "Grateful for the Life You Give", and "Now Thank We All Our God". The choir will offer "Every Day Is a Day of Thanksgiving".

If you will be worshipping with us onsite, you're invited to bring with you any produce, flowers, or other seasonal items that you would like to offer to help decorate the front of the church. Thank you!

Together, may our thanksgiving become thanksliving.

We can care for our neighbours so much better when we’re connected as community partners, and this afternoon showed how it’s making such a difference. We were grateful for the invitation to share what Cedar Park United is doing, and to hear about so many other creative, thoughtful and collaborative responses to food insecurity on the West Island. Thank you, Table de Quartier Sud de l'Ouest de l'Île and Table de Quartier du Nord de l'Ouest-de-l'Île de Montréal and Corbeille de pain for bringing us together like this! 🍅🥦💚

Great big thanks to everyone who made yesterday’s Wednesday Community Connections happen:
—to Provigo Le Marché Kirkland Jean Paquette for generously donating the bread and sandwich fillings
— to Maria for making such delicious homemade soups
— to Bread and Beyond for providing the supplies and inspiration, every time
— to the students and educators from Pierrefonds Comprehensive and John Rennie who came and volunteered their time
— to the Cedar Park United friends and neighbours who volunteered their time and effort to getting those sandwiches made with love ❤️ and delivered to Ricochet Hébergement/Homes

In this often loud, harsh, and divisive world, Community Connections was a soft and welcoming place to be yesterday. Come join us in November 11 when we do it again!

🌿 New Senior’s Program — Connection, Conversation, Community
We’re delighted to introduce a new program for seniors beginning this month at Merging Waters United Church! Join us two Tuesdays each month — one gathering focused on social activities, and the other on health, spirituality, and well-being.
Throughout the year, we’ll also share four community meals, celebrating friendship and nourishment together.
Expect a rich variety of experiences — from arts, music, and games to yoga, legacy storytelling, and technology workshops, with many more themes in between.
