Pastor Ian and Pat Fitzpatrick are joining us this Sunday!

Originally from Northern Ireland, Ian came to faith in Jesus at 21 years old during a serious illness. He later met Pat while serving in the Church of the Nazarene and together they spent three years ministering in an orphanage in Beirut, Lebanon during the Lebanese Civil War.

After attending Nazarene Bible College, Ian and Pat moved to Canada where they pastored in the GTA for 20 years before Ian became District Superintendent of the Canada Central District and later also served the Quebec District. In 2016, Nazarene Bible College awarded him an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity in recognition of his servant leadership, humble spirit, and faithfulness to God’s call.

We’re also thankful for Pat, who continues to faithfully serve as our district administrator.

We’re so glad they’ll be with us this Sunday, and we look forward to hearing Pastor Ian bring the Word.

Join us at 10:30 a.m.!

This weekend many of our volunteers took part in NazSafe training as we continue working to create safe, healthy ministry environments for every child, teen, and person who walks through our doors.

As a church, we take seriously our responsibility to train and equip our volunteers in abuse prevention, safety practices, and wise ministry leadership. We’re thankful for tools like NazSafe that help us serve well and care for people with integrity.

We also want to say thank you to the many volunteers who faithfully serve our church every week. From children’s ministry and youth, to worship, ushers, care teams, set up, hospitality, tech, and so much more. Your service matters deeply, and our church is stronger because of you.

You’re the best, and we thank God for each one of you.

Some ministry happens on a stage. Most of it happens quietly behind the scenes.

Thank you to the volunteers who serve in ways many people never see. The ones counting donations, updating policies, preparing snacks, visiting the sick and shut-ins, setting up chairs, fixing things, cleaning spaces, caring for details, and faithfully doing the work that helps our church function week after week.

Today, a special shout out to Mike and Pastor Jani for spending their afternoon caring for our church property and keeping our grounds welcoming and beautiful for everyone who walks through our doors.

The Church is built by people willing to serve faithfully, even when no one is watching. We’re grateful for each of you.

What a beautiful Sunday celebrating baptisms at church.

Yesterday we witnessed Wendy and Amy publicly declare their faith in Jesus through baptism. Their testimonies were a reminder of God’s grace, faithfulness, and transforming power.

Baptism is a picture of new life in Christ. A step of obedience. A declaration that Jesus is Lord.

Our church family rejoiced together, prayed together, and celebrated what God is continuing to do in people’s lives. To God be the glory.

“Repent and be baptised…” Acts 2 reminds us that baptism is a response to the saving grace of Jesus. It’s a public declaration of repentance, new life, and faith in Christ.

Today our church family had the joy of celebrating with Wendy and Amy as they were baptised. We rejoiced together as they shared their testimonies and took this step of obedience and faith.

What a gift to witness God still changing lives and drawing people to Himself.

Creating a safe place for every child matters.

NazSafe training helps equip our volunteers to serve children, youth, and vulnerable people well. It gives practical guidance on how to recognize risk, respond wisely, and create safe, caring ministry environments. It’s part of our commitment to protect those entrusted to us and to uphold a zero-tolerance approach to abuse.

If you serve in any ministry with children, youth, or vulnerable people, this training is required.

We’re hosting our next NazSafe training on Sunday, May 24, right after church. Lunch will be provided.

Today so many of our Church family showed up to help with the spring cleanup that was very needed! There was a lot of gardening done!! Thank you to those who cut down trees, trimmed branches, pulled weeds, moved soil, raked leaves, swept dirt and so much more. Thank you to those who built our new basketball net scraped paint off of our ageing ramp and made sure that that ramp was safe for the many people who use it on Sunday mornings. Thank you to the team inside who was organizing the kitchen, organizing kids supplies and made sure that the team was well fed and had hot coffee on demand. Special shout out to the kids who showed up and were hugely helpful!! And to the Girl Guides who planted all the beautiful bulbs in the winter we really love the colour that they bring. Also thanks to those who helped prep for today - running to garden centres, measuring and buying the needed supplies.

This Sunday, we’ll be taking time to honour and pray for the mothers and women in our church.

We’re thankful for the women who faithfully love, serve, encourage, teach, pray, and help raise up the next generation in faith. God uses mothers, grandmothers, mentors, and spiritual mothers in powerful ways to shape families, disciple children, and strengthen the life of the church.

Mother’s Day is often filled with joy and gratitude, but we also recognize it can carry grief, longing, complicated relationships, and loss. For some, it’s a celebration. For others, it’s a tender day. Many carry a mix of both.

See you Sunday!

We’d love lots of helping hands this Saturday, May 9 at 10am as we take some time to care for our church building and property together.

There’s a growing list of jobs that need attention after the winter, both inside and outside. We have everything from minor repairs, painting, plumbing, carpentry, yard work, gardening, cleaning, and general tidying up. No special expertise is needed. Just willing hearts and hands ready to serve together.

If you’re able, please bring work gloves, yard or gardening tools, toolboxes, or any specialty tools you think may help.

Many hands really do make light work, and we’d appreciate all the help we can get!
