June 11 – Memorial of St. Barnabas

Saint Barnabas was a Cypriot Levite who sold his property to give the proceeds to the early Christian community in Jerusalem. Known as the "Son of Encouragement" (Acts 4:36), Barnabas famously vouched for Saint Paul when the other disciples feared him after his conversion.

Prayer for Intercession

Holy Apostle, Saint Barnabas,
You were rightly called the Son of Encouragement
for your generous heart, welcoming spirit,
and tireless zeal in spreading the Gospel of Christ.
Look with favor upon me today,
and intercede for my intentions before the throne of God.
Obtain for me the grace to be a source of comfort to others,
to welcome the stranger with Christ-like love,
and to stand up for the truth of the faith with courage.
Help me to see the good in those around me,
just as you saw the grace of God in Saint Paul,
so that together we may grow in holiness.
Amen.
