In fact, what is most shocking is that both candidates have risen to this point in spite of their conduct. Certainly, not the stuff of leadership… but, it is also not surprising. Why? Quite simply, the office of president of the United States of America has not been protected...

There is the father that is not rightfully honored and respected in his family. There is the manager that is quickly fired because one disgruntled employee levelled that serious accusation. There is the political leader whose misdeeds are swept under the rug. And there is the church elder that is restored to his office after the wounds of his sin are still fresh. At some point or another, we all need support. God knows that. And that is why He has given us an institution of support – the local church...

You wash your hands, look in the mirror… and there it is. Sticking out like a gorilla in a small bush. That piece of food that is making your stomach drop as you smile in the mirror. That piece of food from lunch… that was likely there throughout lunch as you chatted with others. The same piece that was there when you met with friends and discussed the day’s events. And the same one that is there now… Yikes! You think: “Why didn’t someone tell me???”

Do not rebuke an older man but encourage him as you would a father, younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, younger women as sisters, in all purity.
