St. James Anglican Church, Perth St James is an Anglican Christian Community blessed with a beautiful and historic worship space. All are welcome! The Parish family of the Church of St.

Sunday worship is at 8am (Book of Common Prayer - said Eucharist) and 10am (Book of Alternative Services - choral Eucharist). James the Apostle in Perth traces our roots as an Anglican Christian Community to the early years following the founding of our town as a Military Settlement after the war of 1812. Our current place of worship, fellowship and service was established in 1861 and we have been blessed to steward and further the ministry of generations of faithful Christians here. In recent years we have reached out to the elders of the nearest First Nations Community โ€“ the Shabot Abadjiwan First Nation โ€“ to support their efforts at re-establishing permanently reserved lands on their ancestral territory west of Perth and to assist them in the vital work of recovering their language and culture. Each time we gather we acknowledge that we are meeting and worshipping on unceded ancestral territory of the Algonquin people. We pray that God would grant us to live in peace and friendship with all the peoples of this land.

On this weekend we celebrate the 800th Anniversary of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi with a Service of the Blessing of Animals! A glorious warm sunny afternoon to gather with the animals (mostly dogs and Eleanor the snake) to sing, pray, give thanks and ask Godโ€™s blessing on our beloved pets!

As we head into a season of gratitude, our campaign theme for this month is "Giving Thanks."

We are incredibly thankful for the grassroots support, local energy, and generosity that have brought 63 Halton Street to this exact moment. Looking at this building in the autumn sun, it's amazing to see how far we've come together.

But our work isn't quite finished. As we prepare to gather with our own families this month, let's work together to ensure 15 of our neighbours have a safe, permanent place to call home.

This October, we are reflecting on exactly what this community has already achieved. Thanks to your incredible support, we are officially 52% of the way to our final goal with $156,625 raised.

As we head into the weekend, we're asking for your help to finish the build.

This project is powered by grassroots energy, and every dollar brings us one step closer to welcoming our neighbours home.

Our construction crews and volunteers have been hard at work behind the fences, turning blueprints into real, tangible progress. But as we head into the final stretch of the year, we are preparing for something even bigger.

Over the next three months, we are going to share the most important chapter of this journey so far and exactly how this incredible community can come together to cross the finish line and unlock 15 safe, affordable homes for families and seniors in Perth.

We are officially transitioning from the hard work of building to the heart work of welcoming. For months, weโ€™ve been focused on deadlines and drywall, but the next three months will be about the people who will soon call this place home.

Our communityโ€™s fundraising has made incredible things possible, but our work isnโ€™t over. We are about to begin our final push toward the finish line, and we will need the entire Perth community with us to cross it.

We canโ€™t wait to share the next chapter with you. The real magic starts next week.

We have made tremendous progress so far, but we still have a crucial financial gap to close before we can hand over the keys and unlock 15 safe, accessible homes.

We are going to be asking you to get involved over the next three months in a significant way. Please make sure you are following our page and have our notifications turned on.
