Can you count the gray shirts? Those are the mechanics on the aviation team in Papua New Guinea. Without them, the aircraft and pilots go nowhere! And without the flights, dozens of church planters cannot continue their work. And people groups far from roads and navigable rivers don’t hear the lifesaving message of the gospel. Mechanics may wear gray shirts, but they are “gold” to the team. Pray with us for more mechanics. Are you a mechanic? Contact us!

You should read your bible every day. But make sure you read it today and remember that on this day October 6th 1536, William Tyndale was strangled to death for the crime of translating the bible into English.

Kristin Simmons teaches Missionary Kids in Papua New Guinea

"After I completed high school at Numonohi Christian Academy (NCA) in Papua New Guinea (PNG), I returned to Canada with a plan to get my teaching degree and serve overseas as a missionary teacher. I did not think I would return to PNG but was open to go wherever the Lord saw fit to send me.

"I have been a member of Ethnos Canada since 2011, after the death of my husband in 2010. Since then, I have seen God faithfully leading each step of the way, often only showing me short-term next steps. He opened the door for me to return to PNG to be the missionary teacher I had been dreaming of being for nine years.

"While there were many transitions as I learned the curriculum for my class, the policies of the school and some details of living on the mission centre as an adult, the life and culture of PNG felt like coming home.

"I initially came to PNG for two years in 2011. During those two years, I felt God wanted me to stay longer. Since 2011, I have taught kindergarten, fourth grade, co-taught fourth and fifth grade, taught elementary PE and technology, and most recently have taught first grade for multiple years. I will be returning to the field in December 2025 to take on a new role as elementary principal for a semester.

"Each year has grown me as a teacher and provided opportunities for me to grow in my relationship with the Lord. It has been wonderful teaching at NCA—seeing kids’ engagement and excitement for learning motivates me. I love seeing how much they learn and grow in a year! At the same time, I get to be a part of PNG people hearing the gospel, being discipled, and reading the Bible in their own heart language."

Phil Koop, the executive director of Ethnos360 Aviation, shares, “We are still waiting for permission to send the R66 helicopter that was packed in the container for Asia Pacific back in October. Pray with us that it will soon be on its way.”

The bulk fuel tank, which will allow aviation operations to continue regardless of national fuel shortages, has arrived in Papua New Guinea. “Now all that our team has left is to hook up the electricity, test it and order a fuel tanker to fill it. Praise the Lord with us for this great news.”

Pray that God would provide an engine for a brand-new R-66 helicopter for the Papua New Guinea aviation team “despite supply chain issues.”

Canadians John and Krista Poidevin serve at the support centre for the Highlands Region in Papua New Guinea: John in Tech Services and Krista at the medical clinic. “A team of missionaries is working with the local believers in Tanguat to teach the gospel for the first time in villages that have not previously heard a clear presentation of the truth.” Though spiritual needs are being met throughout the country, there are physical needs too. “There are nurses around, but we are still waiting to see how God will provide doctors.” Pray that God will provide the help that they need. Praise the Lord for the church plants there and for the Good News being spread in different ways. “Please keep praying that we will continue to follow Him, trusting and watching to see what great things He is doing.”
